What a crock.
Do you disagree with the findings... or just dislike protectionism in general.

Understood... 8 lugs were always a pain to find. Are you ok with steel or do you need aluminum? I assume these are hub pilot. What rears are in this truck?

yes..., but why? usually 315 is there for the weight rating ...11Rs don't even come close. Also used 9 inch rims are worth more than used 8.25...perhaps you could make a deal with somebody.

You still running the brockway
I just pulled the tags off it to transfer to the superliner at the end of the year. Nothing wrong with it (still my favorite) just can't justify more registration and insurance. I don't have any drivers and five is enough trucks for one guy to run.
Also i feel like it is more of a DOT magnet...like "hey thats different lets check him out". Had two PA troopers under it for hours one day... they had never seen wedge brakes before.

Does volvo sell their engines without emissions equipment in areas that don't require it? In other words how are the export Macks set up? I have heard some areas of the world you can't even get low sulfur fuel.

at least the MR looking thing had camelback. Does anyone really want mdrive in something like that. Seriously, Why not just get the allison?

Is it just the tires that are slow or is the whole air system slow to reach operating pressure? do you vary your tire pressure often?

Volvo doesn't want you operating a 1996 vintage truck. And they want to rinse their hands of "American" Macks.
Their parts pricing is attempt to make older macks more expensive to work on. Example: i got a quote from Transedge last week for door gaskets and cat whiskers on a drivers door (95 RD).... over $500. Thats insane. Mack always had the lowest cost of ownership Volvo certainly fixed that.

I have a 1987 rd686 with the chassis mounted air cooler. The em7 vs em6 makes the most sense. What confused me was several of these rd690s are before 1989 i thought that was when the em7 came out.
-
Can someone tell me what is the difference between an rd686 and an rd 690. I thought it was just a year thing but now i'am not sure. Maybe the 686 has only 6 speed and 690 has 7 spd or more Maxitorque gears.

Update . I ordered a new bumper for the 96 from valley chrome. I'll post pictures when it gets here. Mack dealer wanted $1400 (ouch!) Valley Chrome should be less than half that.

In this photo( borrowed from FB) They are both extended mounting swept back channel types, but only the one on the right is deeper and has center tow. Could someone tell me a part number for the one on the right and what parts would be need to change from the style on the left . Thanks

Looking at replacing bumpers on an 87 and a 96. The 96 has a hendrickson 7643 on it now, and the 87 has a 7644. When looking at images of other peoples trucks i sometimes see a bumper with a center tow hole. Was this always an option? The bumpers look the same from the 80s up until cv granites . are they interchangeable? What is needed to mount it?
International Trade Commission Reverses Stance on Imported Chinese Tires

i've seen good and bad chinese tires. Mostly when i buy tires i buy a made in the usa tire(ameristeel d460 ..used to be general) from a foreign owned company( continental). because that is what i have gotten the best service from
"price underselling" isn't that selling below the cost of production in order to gain market share?
You talked of the "club" but didn't mention the USW... i'am sure those guys want to keep making wages that i'am pretty sure exceed the wages in china.
