  1. I've been told that a worn shifting fork will cause a transmission to jump out of gear. I don't think heavy truck transmissions have synchronizers. None of the American transmissions anyway. I know that some European manufacturers have them.
  2. Thank you. I have looked and looked but never been able to find that. Thanks for the help!
  3. Can anyone give me the gear ratios in a 12 speed transmission? I would like to know the low ratio(1st gear) and the high (12th gear) ratios. I would really appreciate your help.
  4. Yeah. I had the local CAT dealer check the oil for fuel. It was positive for fuel. The engine oil pressure had dropped considerably and that is what alerted me to my problem. My Mack dealer told me to check the injectors but I really can't see how they could be contributing to my problem when they appear to be completely dry and the engine has not developed a miss or vibration. The pump came in today and the shop said it had two o-rings that were rolled over or twisted but not broken. I put the pump back on but I think I will drop the oil pan and have a look, just to settle my mind of any further problems. Thank you guys for trying to help!
  5. The heads are 2 valve with the external injectors. That is why I can't see how fuel could be getting into the oil without a miss in the engine or fuel leaking out somewhere.
  6. I was at CONEXPO on the last two days. I saw the new Titan and I thought it had an awful lot of Volvo influence in the styling. I hope it looks better in daylight than it did at the show. Those air cleaners kind of put me off. I really did not care for it though. If that is what I wanted I would go buy a Volvo. I did have a wonderful time "arguing' with the gentleman at the outside exhibit over the new MP engines. He tried to convince me that the MP was a Mack engine and not Volvo but he did agree that Volvo had some influence and that the engineering was done in the Mack facility. He was a really nice guy and unlike most he really knew his stuff. Some people at trade shows could do a little bit of studying their product before they attend. We could not get anyone at the Titan exhibit to even talk to us. If you want to see something odd looking, check out the new International premium offering. It loks like a toy. I guess I'm not a fan of the new designs.
  7. Do you still have this problem or have you found the problem? I have had similar issues and have reduced the problem by shimming my axle torque rods out. They must have been replaced and where not long enough. It seems to have changed the geometry of the axles and would not allow the axles to travel freely which caused the truck to hop. I'm still fine tuning this problem. If you found out something, please let me know.
  8. I've had fuel in my oil and I'm wondering if some one can help. After setting over the winter I noticed my oil pressure dropping when I started up for Spring work season.I'm having the injector pump and supply pump checked for leaks. The pump was purchased 17 months ago from REMACK and included injectors. No luck with REMACK helping out. I've been told that I need to check my injectors but I haven't noticed any dampness around the injectors or visable leaks around the heads, plus the engine runs fine. Any suggestions?
