I tell my kids you may very well see revolution in their lifetime. We are on an unsustainable course with far too many deadbeats gaming the system and taking money they did not earn. The people that go to work each day and keep this train on the tracks are increasingly angry and bitter about the way these one way politicians on both sides are destroying the nation we love. I have a Remington 870 12ga SuperMag shotgun, a Remington 700 CDL 30.06 rifle, 3 pistols of various sizes, an increasing supply of ammo and a 4 wheel drive. Any of these lowlifes come in my neighborhood they go home in a box.

You can mitigate all these costs for DPF & SCR by purchasing extended warranty coverages. I recently sold a customer 40 2016 Mack CXU613 Double Bunk Sleepers, Mack MP8 SuperEconodyne packages. WE did a custom 60 months 650,000 miles FULL COVERAGE Engine & EATS warranty - cost per mile for this coverage is $0.012! The trucks are doing great - the fuel mileage is better than he expected and we are goin g to get an order for an additional 40 trucks for next year. In addition the Mack/Volvo recommended DPF cleaning interval has just been extended to 400,000 and the oil drain interval to 40,000 on highway trucks.
The 2010 and 2014 SCR engines from Mack & Volvo are doing a great job.

This whole glider thing will be going away in 2017-2018. We have customers who bought these things who wish they didn't. The fuel mileage is no where near what a new SCR engine can provide. People that buy these things "think they are getting over" but really they are just getting a new truck with old outdate technology. In many cases you can buy a new 2016 truck from any OEM for less money than a glider - makes no sense to me.

Everything we sell them are automatics now - mixers, dump trucks, tractors. The driver is a very experienced low boy operator and he loves the truck. Most all of the big vocational players are going to automatic or automated type transmissions.

I am Division Operations Manager for Worldwide Equipment-Knoxville, but I also handle about 5 fleet accounts and sell both Mack and Volvo. The Mack Super Econodyne Package is doing a great job - Mack MP8-445SE, Mack M-Drive with overdrive and Premium Shifter, 2.64 Rearend Ratio, Full Smartway Compliant Package. I am delivering 40 this year to one customer who bought 25 last year. Loves them. Your issues seem more like a dealer issue than a equipment issue, but in all fairness Miami is a tough place to get anything fixed properly.. Yes these new trucks are certainly more complex and nearly ALL of it is because of EPA mandates. The non SCR engines were a nighmare for ALL makes and models with NO exceptions. Mack is VERY Competitive in the sleeper market price wise and the fuel economy is excellent. Call me if I can help you.
