I would like this one but I have no use for it. But, I want it!
When you get one, keep the rebuild pictures coming.

Hello,
Looking for an RD800, preferably a tractor. Doesn't need to be perfect as we plan to do a full frame off restoration. If it's a Michigan Special then better yet..

Looking good. Don't want to know the stack of receipts for all that. I know it is better then a payment book for a new truck! It wasn't cheap, but it's a brand new truck for less than the price of new, spec'd the way we wAnt, without the tier 4 emissions...

The new slider, and saddle are on. The plate is too, but i forgot to get pics of it last night before locking up the shop.
We have one half fender on, and the other will be on today. We're definitely closing in on her.

A quick update. The suspension has all been replaced. New brakes, , shocks, slack adjusters, bags, torque arms, The sending units for the tears were replaced, the fluids dropped, all new bearings, seals, taillight panel, fifth wheel slider, and plate.
It's been determined that at one point the truck either hit something or it ran something over on the right side. The rears were out of alignment in a bad way. Like the back axle was shifted 3/4" to the right. the front was messed up as well. Everything has been replaced now, so there is no second guessing. The truck steers phenomenal now. The suspension works right. Everything is probably better than when it left the factory.
The hydraulic tank should be here soon. We are awaiting its arrival to mount it. After its mounted the truck will be prepped for paint.

Yeah, it does beat buying a new one. When we're done the truck will be like new anyway.

5/11 Update:
New parts are rolling in.
So far we have found a lot of issues with how this truck was repaired. Everything was rigged up, of neglected.
The rear ends were out of alignment. The wiring was secured and fastened as it should have been. The half fenders were bent, and picked together. The fifth wheel was too low, the fifth wheel slides were too far forward. Just to name a few things...
The truck received all new front springs, shocks, tie rod ends, and tie rod tube, kingpins, drag links, u bolts, brake canisters, slack adjusters, spring hanger buShings, axle seals, hub caps, shoes, and drums.
The cab interior is mostly new.
The back half of the truck received new shocks, brake canisters, shoes, and drums are going on this week. New torque rods, new air bags, new wear pads in the spring hangers, retainer bushings, slack adjusters, new bolts on the torque rod mounting plates as the wrong bolts were installed by the previous owner.
The cab received new shocks, and ride leveler, a new pogo stick was fabbed up as well.
That's all I have for now. I will update more eventually.

Progress Report!!!!!
New alternator on, new belts. New AC Compressor.
I think she needs new brake canisters up front. The front front shoes are worn too.
Replaced the fan hub, as you can see the studs are half broken. Glad it was caught before the new radiator was installed.
Also discovered why the speedo and tachometer weren't working. The sensors were both broken.
The cab mounts were shot. We installed new ones.
We installed the new air ride height control valve. Just waiting on more parts from Wiegand Mack..

Hello! We installed four new batteries.
Put the motor back together adjusted the valves. She fired right up. My dad has another mechanic in the garage helping in my absence. I haven't had the chance to do much except for rain days.
Going to go through the motor and deem if it's in need of a rebuild or not.
Anyone see what I see?
Fixed the air leak. Bags aired up for the first time in years.

Not as familiar with such light duty Mack's. As we run double that weight everyday, but I would see no issue with that setup. I mean the only drawback is the 10 speed. I prefer my 18spd for in the landfill and off road situations.

Well, we finally got some work in on the CL. Here are some pics
As you can see the motor was taken apart. The truck was parked and then started to get boned out piece by piece over the last 7-8 years.
Although it's hard to tell that's a new floor at, new shifter handle, new gauge cluster, all new condenser, valves, new seats, and switches as most of the dash was apart when we started. The gauge cluster was taken do there is no way of knowing exactly how many miles are in the truck.

Great job Jake, that baby looks great !! Was hoping when you had time ,if you could get me a measurement from one of the rear engine/trans mounts to back spring hanger or battery box mounting bolt. Mine uses a batt, box mounting bolt. Just want to see if they will need to be moved to put a Cat in my 713 to replace an e-6 300. Picked up a '87 in rust free MT, Plan on a complete redo next winter. Thanks
Just saw this post, I will measure for you as soon as I get back in the shop.
