  1. CPL 675. Denotes that it is a NTC-350 Cummins, but prior owner claims it was turned into a 400 . 9 speed overdrive(want to turn it into a 13), Rockwell spring suspension, 3.73 rear gear, 40,000 rears, dual 150 gallon tanks from a Western Star, dual 6 inch stacks with rain caps, Jake (I NEED A CUMMINS PT FUEL PUMP SWITCH FOR THE JAKE)
  2. Just another toy I bought awhile back.......I may work it eventually
  3. Name: Mack DM-800 (1967) Date Added: 24 July 2008 - 11:30 PM Owner: ragman069 Short Description: Dumping 22 tons of gravel View Vehicle
  4. As long as you keep 'em moving, you can steer 'em with Armstrong power steering.
  5. '67 DM-800 237HP, QUAD BOX,5.XX REARS AVERAGED 5.1 MPG loaded 50% of the time tipping the scale at 77,000#. '89 FORD LTL-9000 350HP CUMMINS(Pittsburgh Power pump and injectors added another 100hp), 9 speed overdrive, 3.73 rears averaged 6.1 mpg pulling 48' spread axle flats. '77 KENWORTH W900A 400HP CUMMINS,13 SPEED DIRECT, 4.XX REARS AVERAGES 3-4 MPG GROSSING OUT AT 100,000# WITH 28' DUMP TRAILER
  6. I WAS BACKING UP A 10-12% GRADE THIS SUMMER IN A '67 DM-800 10 WHEEL DUMP. THE TRUCK WAS GROSSING ABOUT 75,000#. ALL OF A SUDDEN, A LOUD BANG, AND THE WHOLE DRIVELINE JUMPED. I STOPPED MOVING. THE TRANNY (QUAD BOX) WAS PULLED, AND THE REVERSE IDLER GEAR LOST ABOUT A QUARTER OF ITS' TEETH. IS THIS THE WEAK LINK IN THIS TRANNY? DOES ANYONE SELL INDIVIDUAL PARTS AND GEARS FOR THE QUAD BOX? THE LOCAL MACK DEALER IN RI CAN'T SEEM TO BE OF ANY ASSISTANCE.
  7. I'M RUNNING A 1967 DM-800 10 WHEEL DUMP. IT HAS A 237HP ENGINE, 18 SPEED QUAD BOX , 5.XX REAR GEARS(ABOUT 50 MPH TOP SPEED), 20,000#,58,000# AXLES, TALL RUBBER, AND POWER STEERING. I UNDERSTAND HOW THE TRANNY WORKS AND CAN SHIFT IT FAIRLY WELL. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS UPSHIFTING ON HILLS WHEN THE TRUCK IS HEAVILY LOADED. I CAN'T GO FROM 2 HI TO 3 LO FAST ENOUGH, FOR EXAMPLE. I LOSE ALL MY ROAD SPEED. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TIPS OR ADVICE ON HOW TO DO THIS QUICKLY? OR DO I JUST NEED ALOT MORE PRACTICE? ALSO WHEN LUGGING UPHILL, I USUALLY DROP THE MAIN BOX A FULL GEAR WHEN I HAVE TO DOWNSHIFT. I CAN'T SHIFT THE TWO STICKS FAST ENOUGH IF I HAVE TO DO A COMPUND SHIFT. ANY HELPFULL TIPS WILL BE APPRECIATED.
