So it has been quite a while since I posted some updates on our Mack restoration project. The below pictures are of us picking up the apparatus from the MDC Concord Jail in Concord Mass on June 7th. I am that balding fellow in the middle. To my right is my father and to my left is the automotive shop director Jan Hanrady. The boys there learned a thing or two on sandblasting and painting. The paint work turned out quite well. Thankfully under the pump gauges was a couple of area where the original paint existed. We were able to run a exact color match using those areas.
Since then we have begun the reassembly process. We acquired oak boards for the running boards and those are currently being fabricated. We retooled the original metal tins and trim, so those will be reapplied with stainless steel fasteners. The dash and trim is back in. More photos to follow!

Looking at the photos of this BG, I see that the coil is on the cab side of the firewall, since the coil wire goes through a grommet. Ours was zip tied to the firewall on the engine side. I asked for a photo from the owner through E Bay but never received a response. Does anyone on here have an idea as to the proper mounting of the distributor coil?

That I figured out reading into the website. I have called and left a message.

well...joe@sirenman.com nor john@sirenman.com seem to work. Guess I will have to try the phone number!

Sent an email to the sirenman. On the website, it has his name as Joe Dorgan, not John Dorman.
Did you try John Dorman's son aka The Siren Man in AZ?

Siren Help!
Looking to see if anyone may have some knowledge as to where I may be able to locate a Sterling Siren as depicted on the images. I was a week late in acquiring one from ebay Damn it!
Looking at the original factory photos, I believe this is the type that was mounted to the rail on the drivers side. Thanks!

Thank you for the connection. Luckily my father and I rebuilt the carb and were able to make a duplicate gasket. So far running like a top.Just saw this thread today. Very nice truck. In reading the posts, last year you said finding a rebuild kit for the carb, SF3, was impossible. Not so. Call Treadwell carburetor in New York. Very nice folks. I bought three rebuild kits for the SF3 last year from them, as I have these on some AC's I own. Very reasonable price, and they can overhaul your carb (or just about any other, old or new).

I want to say that I did inquire with them on that and the gentleman at the shop couldnt answer that. The example they had there did not have the preheater. Apparently most of the examples of manifolds with the preheaters have long since rotted away.

I will have to look into the paint code for you. I believe its a PPG epoxy paint. Was it MACK Code 400? If so was the match mixed in PPG , Dupont or? Could you get the new paint number? Paul

Fortunately we had original paint under the pump gauges we were able to color match to.Looks like on paint once before after it left the factory! Appears to be a nice job on it. Paul

Yes please do! We made a plate and a baffle for now to keep the gasses flowing out. Just had no damn clue where the other end of the rod goes.Very nice!!
The pre heat linkage, when I get back to Virginia an a month, I'll look at my 1934 AC 6 and see if it has it. If so,I'll take a few photos of it.

Which museum did the BG end up at? I certainly could use some of the parts if not check them out to try and duplicate.Check with Mike Kitsock 570-617-2376. A friend just donated a 32 BG to Mike for the Museum to part out.
