  1. hello folks not peeked in here in a while , thought I would throw my hat through the door, been hanging out over at H.E.F., Sevartllc, I can only hope that you will be as pleased with your swap as I has been with mine, my little '81-R 2v-300 originally had a 5sticker, I put a 13 in at clutch time and got a different truck in the process, my rears were 4.17 and the bit of overdrive helped, I traded for a set of 3.87 chunks and know its like a dream. She still has a decent enough low for the bad places and on the slab we're cadilac'in at about 75mph [1900 in OD] . best of luck
  2. Just pipin in on a rainy day, don't know who's doin your a/c work.....U may want to find someone else . I rebuilt my a/c system in my R modle about 8 years ago , spent about $12 or $1400 ( new comp, evap.cond, dryer, lines, the whole kabang) I put a can of gas in it for the first time this year . I figure that to around $175 a year so far + 1 can of gas and it will freeze you out of the truck in South Mississippi. Not a bad investment ,its hard to keep the inside clean with the windows down anyways. My first truck was a 1969 IHC fleetstar 2000d tandem dump with a 250 cummins between the seats. I still have it. Get in that little jessy on a site job by the hour ,never get out of the low side in august. you will appreciate a little air. I'm shure most will agree with me on the weight issue,'' Get a Freightliner'' if you are interested in weight savings
  3. thanks for the response We are in the southeast corner, all the way to the bottom. As far as racing ,not really, but if your honest everyone likes to shine a little every know and then. I don't run the old truck everyday anymore. mainly its either under the shed or the lo-boy. Most of the time petted like a lap dog, but every once in a while !!!!! Why not remind the big dogs why they are really running. thanks again I ENJOY THE SITE!
  4. I'm new to your site but I work on shrimpboats from time to time and they sink from time to time and your motor may be floatin in the ocean but the ocean has no buiseness floatin in your motor.. I love the marvel mystery oil the best but add this to your backyard chemistry set. You will need ...... a good hot plate or your lpg fish fryer and your old lady gone somewhere.. so you can go in the kitchen and steal a big pot and lid or a piece of plywood ..directions put m-m oil in pot and get it as hot as you can stay back it will flash up ,put on lid or plywood to put fire out install in stuck cylinders , the heat will expand the cylinder and piston ,but at different rates wanna guess what gets in the gap then . that's the fastest way Ive found.. after hurricane Katrina in 05 I stayed busy for a while unstickin stuff for everone I knew hope this helps someone along the way TRUCK UP
  5. Hello, Gentlemen I just came upon your site,Its very good. I have an '81 R- modle that has been a working-work in progress for about 12 years. Originaly it was a Matlack tank lines unit ,,complete w/ 5spd ,3 leaf rear susp. 22'' datons , and those blessed wedge brakes. It had new York and new jersey highway stickers on it. I suppose it must have made the auction circuit to end up in Collins Ms. a friend of mine bought it ,and hauled gravel with it for about 6 years. Sufficed to say when he parked it was sad to say the least. the only think it had going for it was it had been refitted with an '87 cab and the motor was an '88 pedigree reman e-6 -300 2v . At this point the only thing that is original to the truck are the framerails and the title. I am planning an out out of frame major o-h for the end of the year when things slow down. I rolled a set of brgs in it in 01 and other than setting the valves occasionaly nothing has been done to it since it came to this part of the world in 1995, so its time. I'm aware that was a long prelude to a simple question ,but it seemed nesesary to give the back ground so you'd know this aint B-S . The ? is ......................... Does any you know of a Mack place similar to what the folks at Diesel Injection of Pittsburg do for the 855 cummins. I'm not looking for a 800 hp but while I'm there why not get a little extra . The old ''Mutt'' is by no means a slouch, she'll pull out 2600rpm grossin 80k w/ a 13spd fuller and 3.86 gears the big cats tip there hats when we pass. but what the heck. If somes good a lot must be better. thanks OUT.
