  1. Paul I had no idea my first post would turn out like this I'm amazed at how helpful everyone is its great. Now what truck would you guys recommend to restore I've got my heart set on an h or f model but parts are more available for the b model unless I just haven't came across the right websites yet
  2. Wow guys all this info has defiantly pointed me in the right direction. Sorry it took so long to respond was out earning that dollar. It also brought up a question sense I've decided to do antique tags am I still able to cross state lines with logs or stopping at weigh stations sense it's just personal transport and not used for monantary gain. Oh and slpwlker I'm in covington on the northshore of lake ponchatrain.
  3. How do those work do you just have to find a plate that is the same year as the vehicle to put on it or is it the same thing as antique tags? What I'm finding on the internet isn't being very reliable its all different information
  4. I actually cheated I guess to get mine I was a trucker in the United States Army and once you logged a certain number of miles accident free all you had to do was test and you could skip the road test. The test it self is fairly easy if you take your class a you will need to study general knowledge, pre trip inspection, air brake, and combination. Then what ever endorsements you want. The dmv will have the books you need to study then just rent a truck for the road test or go to a driving school where you get all endorsements and use the schools trucks and trailers but that's fairly expensive.
  5. Hi this is my first post I searched for an answer but couldn't find anything. Ok here's the questions I'm fairly young 22 I've restored a few classic tractors and now I want to restore a semi. I have my cdl and DOT medical card. How do I register the semi so I don't get messed with by the law? It won't be a just show truck ill want to put miles on her. Please help
