I had heard about them having head gasket issues. Do you how many studs were in the corrected engines (or can you tell just by looking). Im not looking to set the world on fire going down the road cause im used to 345 & 392 IH v8's and 230 & 250 non turbo cummins so lower hp numbers im used to

Im looking at a 57 b61 with the 711 engine and a duplex and was wondering if i could get some of yall to throw in your two pennies about it. Is it a good engine? any common problims? anything specific to look for? Ill be honest im not real fermiliar with the older trucks (pre r model era). Its a tandem truck and im loking to convert her back into a tractor, as its got a flatbed now, and pull trailers every once in a while not often but it will get worked from time to time. And just courious if the 711 would hold up. Any input would be appreciated

you said the one transtar had a 13spd.... do you know what trans was in the other? im needing a shifter lever gearbox and my truck has 10spd

They said it is a 711 but im mot sure ive not seen it in person. What engines were avail. in 56? The 711 has the 2 seperate intake manifolds? and im sorry its a 56 not sure if that makes any difference. And yes its not going to be in daily service but occasional heavy use
