  1. Has anyone ever swaped a 6 cylinder for a V8? How much work would it be to swap? How much would you have in parts? I'm having trouble finding what I want. Everyone wants an arm and a leg for a superliner with a V8. I'm finding nice ones with 300s and 350s for under $10,000. Then I keep finding rough trucks with V8s and they want $15,000-25,000. Just exploring my other options.

    Thanks for any replies,

    Scott

  2. Thanks everyone for the help. The RW613 was the truck I liked the most out of all of them I looked at. Now I gotta hunt the guy down and try to buy one of the trucks or maybe two if they are cheap. Then I can post some pictures of it. :D

    Thanks again,

    Scott

  3. I went to look at some Superliners today and one of the trucks was an RW613 and the frame was a lot smaller in height than the other trucks that I looked at. I think the other trucks were RW713's but I forgot to look. Is there a frame height difference between an RW613 and an RW713?

    Thanks in advance,

    Scott

  4. with tires or without?? I could weigh my old style b model camelback at the yard if our scale still works?? it has the 5 spoke style less rims and tires.

I have heard air ride is less weight, not shure if its true???

Without tires. You don't have to go through the trouble of weighing it for me.

  5. Does anyone know how much of a weight difference there is between a Camelback suspension and an Air ride suspension?

    Thanks in advance,

    Scott

I'm looking for a V8 Superliner and I don't know what suspension I want under the old dog. I have found them with airride however they want an arm and a leg. I've found some with Camelback suspension for reasonable prices. What suspension do you guys prefer? I want to pull an end dump with it plus take it to truck pulls.

  6. I'm looking to buy a Superliner with a E9 500 and my dad told me I am crazy  that they are nothing but trouble. Is he right or wrong? What kinds of problems do people have with them? Is an E9 a good dependable motor or will it leave me sitting on the side of the road? I hear that if you don't turn the fuel up they will run forever.

    Thanks for any replies,

    Scott

  7. If its any help, my super dog was advertised for $NZD 29000, with airride and probably 2million ks or more under its belt, convert that to USd and see how that stacks up, One is for sale in Australia with a camelback, sleeper, 1989 model and 120tonne rating  for $Aud 89000. But if you prefer bigger Mack v8s, then there is a 1998 Titan, 610 hp,18 speed, hub reduction diffs,6 rod suspension, sleeper, 200 tonne rating, 4 fuel tanks, bulbar for $AUD 115000.  Or a 2000 Titan, with Cummins 600hp, high rise sleeper, planetary hubs,Neway air,18 speed and travelled 500,000 kms for $AUD 176,000. how does that sound,?

Just remember guys that: A Dog in front of you puts a lot of people behind you!

    nigel :chili:

I converted it to USd and it was around $19,746. You have a good looking truck. I think it would be worth paying that much for a V8 Superliner. Those trucks seem to hold there value. Thanks for the help Nigel.
