  1. I would say from the Crooklyn bridge to exit 70 is an hour, maybe more with traffic. The BQE is usually a nightmare of brake lights and potholes big enough to have their own zip code.

Green - I saw the Mobil station and wound up grabbing lunch at the McDonalds over there. That strip mall was the only place that could easily accommodate my truck and 24' enclosed trailer.

  2. Those Li'l Reds are awesome 78 was the best year (79 shown above) as they were the fastest American car of the time. Those trucks beat corvettes. Since 78 didn't have cats on trucks (started 79) they were able to produce more HP. Plus I prefer the single round lights to the dual (quad) retangular lights of 79.

  3. I have an sad meter separate from the radio. It's a littler more accurate. I think the two antennas are causing interference with each other. I had dual whips on my wrecker and then installed twin Wilson 1000's. It was never as good so I went back to the Wilson fiberglass whips and all was right again.

I'll dig out the swr if you come down this wash to check those transmissions.

  4. Saturday I had to deliver a 1968 Barracuda Convertible out to exit 70 off the L.I.E. While I was crossing I was trying to get shots of some cool stuff:

Not related to this trip but yesterday I went on a mine tour with my wife and my mothers cousin. As I was looking around, I had seen a picture of what looks to be an AC Mack:

  5. I was lucky enough to do a run out to Manorville on Long Island. My shop has no AC so it's been brutal the past coupe weeks. My co worker said my thermometer on my desk said 101 INSIDE the showroom. I was happily cruising in the shop truck and enclosed trailer with the air conditioner set on Artic Freeze.

I got some cool pics of Manhatten on my cell. I'll post them in a new thread in a day or so when I get them off the phone.

  6. Farmingdale is about 10 minutes from my home. I could meet TBone there if he needs a hand. I am still a little wet behind the ears with Mack parts so I would say he is better qualified for knowing what to look for. I can still offer a hand if needed.

  7. Jersey Shore and Jersey Boys are two VERY different things. As said before the Boys is a good show. The Jersey Shore is about a bunch of Ass Hats. I live down at the Jersey Shore and if you went to Seaside (the town they film in) it is pretty much like what you see on TV. I am about 12 miles from there. Every once in a while you catch the film crew in a local restaurant shoot scenes for an up coming episode. Most of the locals stay out of cameras range and don't want to be associated with those fools.
