Interrupting someone while they're eating a can of Beenie-Weenies is called an "intervention".

Nice. How far apart are the serial numbers?

If you have an OD trans, you would add the top gear ratio to the equation after the axle ratio. I skipped that step because with a direct trans you would be multiplying by 1.

RPMx60/tire rotations per mile x 4.17. I'm pretty sure an 11x24.5 has 476 rotations per mile. If so:
2100 x 60=126,000.
476 x 4.17=1984.92.
126000/1984.92=63.48

Ruston's Paving had a Mack or two back in the old days. Pics from their site. Check it out for more old photos. http://gallery.rustonpaving.com/Photos/Vintage-Photos/

I thought that if you go over 11hrs a day even if you were under the 100 mile radius from home base you have to fill out a log book to account for your time? I am home every night, never leave the state or country and have to fill out a log because I drive just out of the 100 mile radius from my home terminal.
The last time I used paper logs was more than 4 years ago but at the time, the rule was 12 hours or 100 "air mile" radius.

it amazes me the depth those old reporters put in the newspaper back then. I have read other articles like that and it about mentions the family dog
This one read almost like an obituary, right down to the wife's maiden name.

Glad your doing better, aside from the bill. Stories like yours are all to common in this country and it appears the situation will only continue to worsen.

Glad to hear his injuries are limited to some soreness and he caught it all on video. Maybe it's because he was stunned but he seemed pretty cool the whole time. Had it been me the audio would have been R rated.

Doesn't everyone need to burn off a little gas in the morning?
That's an extremely rare lizard and yet it's the second one I've seen today.

An ENDT673 is an interesting engine choice for a highway tractor in 1975.

Sounds like he did some serious running with that little Mercedes.
Like you, I have very detailed memories of the trips with my dad. None of my other childhood memories are as vivid as those spent in the truck. Many photos were taken, but sadly few have survived. Thanks for sharing yours.

And, I saw this girl in Winfall on the way home. She appeared to be broke down, but I didn't have time to stop and investigate the situation.
Yeah, don't wanna take a chance on missing your Tuesday appointment in Troy, VA.

Condolences to Bill and his family.
Thanks for posting the link to his website. I haven't looked at it in several years.

Thanks, David. When I try to post anything in for sale forum, it prompts me for " topic prefix " and I don't see where to do that. Working off my smartphone maybe is the reason

When using my iphone, I always open a browser and view the full website. No glitches and for a simpleton like me, it helps to view the site in a familiar format.

Would all 686's have the tip turbine or did they still use the 86 designation for later 300 equipped R models with the charge air cooler?

Glad everyone is okay, the bus took quite a hit. The pike was opened at Breezewood just as I was passing through heading east, right around midnight.
