  1. yep, it was the cab leveling valve. cost $83 and only took me half hour and a bit of cussing to get right again. thanks, ya'll
  2. i have a 2001 ch613 and there is an air leak under the cab. it is coming from a hose connected to a valve or regulator or somthing. when i plug the end of the hose, the cab lifts up via the air bag. the hose llos like it is supposed to be short and it doesnt look damaged. is it supposed to be connected to somthing?
  3. Oops- I meant to say this is what I'll be doing today (if I don't freeze first @ -30). The gain is all the way to the right, but the dyna mic is only halfway. Not sure what that is......
  4. and I was told that multiple antennas look cool, but don't do anything. Not sure if there is any truth to that-
  5. The antenna is a firestick and it is mounted through a hole in my mirror cross bar. the cable connects directly to the antenna. I know the doors are steel, because I have magnets on them. The radio is a 29lx with the swr switch on it. I can be heard by other radios, I just don't recieve anything........
  6. i havnt tried a SWR meter on it (not sure what that is). The antenna is mounted on the mirror and the cable is brand new, It runs straight from my antenna to the radio with no wear, tears or bends. not sure the brand......... My doors are steel, but some guy says they are rubber mounted on macks, so thats why I need to ground it at the back of the radio.......Seems weird to me.
  7. Hey I've got a cobra 29 lcd with a 1000 watt antenna. My range is about 30 feet. I don't understand, cause all the other trucks in our site can talk for miles. I have called cobra and I got it tuned in right, it just doesn't put out at good range. Someone told me it's cause I drive a Mack and I need to ground out the antenna wire............. Any ideas?
  8. sooooooooo- my buddy bought a 99 ch613 and he found a shop manual in the truck. I know Mack used to make them, not sure if they still do- but there MUST be somewhere to buy this manual...... Please ease up on the arguing and focus on the thread-
  9. Thanks again, guys. now that the heat is cranking- I can see why they had the valve shut...... Even when I turn on the A/C it blows hot- guess i'll deal with that when the ground thaws out.......
  10. I am an owner operator and the company that hired me has a yard in Delano, MN (45min-2hr drive away) it takes 45min in the morning and 2hrs+ in the evening just to get to and from my truck. the sad part is, most of the work I do is within 10 minutes of my house. This is costing me a ton in gas/fuel and windshield time. I have a generator welded to the truck to keep my block hot this winter. I just need a 50'x10' space..........
  11. now that I have a truck, i need to find a spot to park it. I'm in Richfield, MN. It is basically south minneapolis/bloomington. I am having a heck of a time finding a safe spot to park it. I am willing to pay around $150/mo. Any help or direction?
  12. Yeah, not having a working radio for the first few weeks helped me learn the sounds and now that I got the radio working, im learning to go by feel- cuz I can't barely hear it anymore!!! Moms- yeah its an mbe trailer. I just got hired on as an owner/op. I was driving straight truck for them for 2 years, but I wanted to pull a trailer. after only 4 days of work, I'm really getting comfortable in this thing!
  13. I have a truck and trailer that I will need to park overnight. Is there a website to find truck parking? Does anyone have any ideas on how to find out where to park in my area? I live in South Minneapolis and am looking to park within 15 miles of my house.

  15. I am looking for a shop/repair manual for my tractor. I have an 01 ch613. Anyone know where I can get one online?
  16. i spent all day at the pits and driving around country roads. I finally got through all 10 gears up and down without grinding. The trick was to stop being so damn clinical with it. I gave it more throttle (to bring it to 18-20) and shifted smooth. I covered up the tach and drove by sound and feel- Then it finally clicked. Thanks guys
  17. The Mack guys drove the truck with me and I had a Mack mechanic (a friend) drive te truck as well before I bought it. Everyone said it drives and shifts good. To shift, I have been bringing the RPMs to 1300 and pulling out, then trying to slide into the next gear before it drops below 1000. It is really tough to get it there that fast. I will definetly try shifting at a higher range (18-20).
  18. So, I just bought my first truck (2001 ch613) Some specs: 10 speed FRO EF tranny. E7 ETECH 380hp Mack. It's a tandem axle daycab. I will be hauling a side dump for my job. I have been driving straight truck dumps for 2 years, but they had straight 6 trannnys and I could handle it well. I only have about 30hrs behind the wheel of my Mack and I am struggling with shifting it (downshifting is proving to be more difficult). I am teaching myself to drive and I would appreciate any help. I don't know very much about this new Tractor, so any insight, info, help or advice would be awesome! Thanks in advance for helping me through-
  19. It was the shutoff valve. I'm so new to this stuff, i feel like an idiot- but how else do i learn? I appreciate the help, guys.
  20. I just bought a Mack ch613 (2001) daycab. I was driving it home from the dealership and the heat doesn't work. It blows good, but no heat. The engine temp never got above 160 (after 2hrs of driving). I'm in Minneapolis and it was <30 degrees yesterday. That drive sucked. Any ideas, before I bring it to the dealer?
