  2. yer there is a long shaft pump and a short shaft at least on the 285 coolpower motors had one start leaking bad so mechanic orders one in puts it on every thing is running out of alignment by a couple of inches pull it back off and compare it to old pump which which is a couple inches shorter shaft just another trap when your not in the know regards ray

  3. yer I would go 4 the 12 speed but be carefull early ones are only low and direct on air switch later ones direct and overdrive a gear 4 every situation I found better behind the 237 the coolpowers seem to fall on there backside under 1400 rpm a note on the 6 speed the one I drove was overdrive box 2 stick passenger side stick was direct neutral and overdrive stick closest to driver standard h pattern reverse 1 2 3 4 5 wind it up before shifting into overdrive was a big gap cheers ray

  5. that's hoe the boss felt Paul, sad part is I got put into a 1984 mack, no where as good up in the hilly country a bit faster on flat country new driver in old 237 done 2 loads and lost of logs flattened the cab level with chassis which also twisted like a piece of spaghetti driver jumped out reckon he would have been killed if he didn't it was a complete wreck bent twisted broken every part engine block snapped in half any way (picture of it, the white one) when I drove it. The green one is the newer one I spent the next 4 years driving. cheers Ray.
