  1. Well I just pulled the head on the endt-673 in my 64 B613 to fix a small oil leak. I found no hone marks left in the cylinders, and a small ring groove at the top of the cylinder. The motor ran fine and started easy but had very low oil pressure when hot like 20psi WOT and 5psi at idle. When cold it would have about 45psi at 1800rpm. I thought my oil pressure was low because the oil pressure line was plumbed to the oil inlet of the turbo, but the worn hone marks and low pressure make me think I should rebuild the motor while I have the fenders and cab off. Any advice or recommendations. Thanks
  2. What would determine if the main gear will fit the compound shaft, do both mains need to be non overdrive, maybe the compounds that originally came behind a non overdrive main will not fit an overdrive main, could this be the difference
  3. I am doing a frame off restoration of my B613-LT, while everything was apart I wanted to switch from my non overdrive duplex to a triplex which I have found locally, but the triplex has an ear broken off of the main case where it bolts to the flywheel housing. I was wondering if there would be any problem with putting the triplex compound box on my duplex main box, they should be the same main box right? Thanks Jase
  4. Well retorquing slowed the leak down considerably but didn't stop it, I guess I'm going to pull the heads and do it right. Anybody know where to find headgaskets for an ENDT-673, my mack dealer couldn't get them. Thanks for the help!
  5. I have a small oil seep from the back head gasket on my ENDT-673, I retorqued the head using the torque specs for an E6 that my mack dealer had given me, but the sequence showed 20 studs, where as my thermodyne has 18 studs. The E6 also calls for 185ft/lbs on the studs, is this also correct for the ENDT-673. Thanks
  6. I have a B613LT single axle truck that I am restoring. the truck seems to have a long wheel base for a single axle. My question is was the B613LT ever made with a tandem axle, mine may have been switched to a single axle since it was a wrecker for a while. Thanks
  7. I have a single axle B61, I had noticed a vibration at higher speeds and found that the pinion shaft had a little bit of slack up and down when I would push on the drive shaft, How can I get rid of the slack? Thanks
  8. I have just noticed an oil leak from the headgasket in my ENDT 673, it is a real slow leak it seems to just seep a little bit, is this normal, or is it time to tear in to it
  9. Well I just bought a single axle B-model, and would still like to have a tandem set up, my frame is 10' 2'' long measured from the back of the cab, is this long enough to slide in a camelback tandem and bolt down, with out doing any frame cutting or welding.
  10. Is it possible to convert a single axle B model to tandem axle if you have a good cut off set of tandems, and how would you go about doing it? Thanks.
  11. I have looked at a few B model tractors, and they all have a wiring panel of some sort behind the cab on the drivers side. The wires come from the cab, go to the panel and then go to the trailer wiring and truck tail lights. Is this some sort of fuse panel and what is it called and where would you get one, thanks.
  12. I have a chance to buy a B613 Mack. It is a single axle, double framed, tractor with a duplex, It has a low mile 237 that was new when installed by a mack dealer, they also installed front brakes. The truck runs and drives good but has some rust on the cowl by the wind shield and at the edges of the floor board and some rust on the door skin. Everything works in the truck but the wiring could stand to be cleaned up, is $6500 a decent price.
  13. What are the differences between the ENDT 673, A,B and C models and do all ENDT 673's have oil cooled pistons
