Yep Michael, we'll be there on Saturday. We've been doing bits and pieces on the Ford, mostly interior cab stuff. And yeah, we're scooping up the former Collingdale rigs. I did find out the 52 Mack A Model that went to Hellam, Pa after it was replaced by this Seagrave went to Colorado around 1995, so that'll probably not be back.
>>>As a side not to anyone, I have no idea how to put a picture on. Any Help??<<<

Bullhust...THANKS!!! Good info, I kind of thought that, thanks for going the extra mile!
Olivetroad, I'm bringing it home on Monday, I'll get pics of it then and get them up on here.

Realizing there are other rigs out there in addition to Mack, I have purchased a 1969 Seagrave rear mount ladder truck, a former Collingdale #1 truck. The owner has provided me with 2 numbers so I can get it on my insurance for the ride home.
R4511 and SR20756
Anyone familiar with Seagrave know which one is the registration number?

We aquired a 1963 Ford / Hahn C-850 pumper. Solid as a rock but the cab interior has taken a beating over the past 49 years. There are a ton of sources for all sorts of F series parts, does anyone have a lead on C series stuff? Cab interior components, like floor mats and headliner in particular. I tried OEM at our local Ford dealer, no luck.

Looking for a source for valve cover gaskets for my 48 707.

I'll be there Sunday, space 122 in the main building.
Won't have any t-shirts for sale, maybe 1 blue light, but I will have a lot of appliances that came with the "new old Mack" and just don't fit the genre of a 1948 rig. Like, Storz fittings for the steamer? Also have a brass bell and a chrome bell. Stop by for a chat.

Not much to that Zenith carb really. Is the throttle shaft still tight?
Throttle shaft is very free, almost too lose it would seem, but then my experience is with Ford 2bbls )

George
I used Mark Buber Carb rebuilder in Phoneix AZ, our Mack has an updraft that never ran right, I suspected a bad accelerator pump, they bench tested and confirmed it, rebuilt it and runs better than it ever ran, according to our members that drove it when new. Contact Info is: Mark Buber 3116 East Shea Blvd. Phoenix, AZ 85028 602-971-3300 8 a.m. - 7 p.m., Rebuilt carburetors and carburetor kits from 1925 to 1965
Cost is between $200-$400 depending on what needs to be repaired.
Also send me a personal email about the pump, I have a QL75 that should be the right pump for your truck.
Can you post the pictures of the new west coast mirrors you mounted.

I'll get back to you on the pump, thanks!

George,
I am going to have Cal Little rebuild the carb off my 85LS 1101. For the moment we have the carb off of a newer 707 from a B85 on it. It runs great. The only problem is it has both governors on which makes it so hight it rubs on the underside of the hood.
On another note, my computer is still not working so I cannot send pictures of the ford pickup.
Michael Yarnall
Mike, didn't realize Cal did the rebuilds. My dad has a place in north Jersy that did some carb work for him but maybe I'll call Cal, seeing he is familiar with the truck.
My dad does want that pickup, is there a good time we could cruise up and look at it?
My email is dcckaiser@juno.com, if you'd want to comunicate off of the forum.

Ok, now I'm ready to have the carb from 85LS1190 rebuilt. It's a Zenith.
Any suggestions of a quality rebuilder I can take it to (Philadelphia area) or send it out to?
-
Installation complete, brackets came from AW Direct, Mack bubble mirror heads from Watts.

Looking to put west coast style mirrors on my 48 85LS. It's an open cab, with full doors. I know some of the purists will cry, but with the kind of highway driving in the Philadelphia area I anticipate doing, safety overrides originality on this one. So, I guess my question is, anyone ever done it, or have any leads as to where I can get them?

George,
The L85 is looking good, I was always fond of the Hahn , but that is a great replacement!
Firemack
Still have the Hahn and the sedan cab Mack, just not too road worthy anymore. Not looking at this rig as a replacement, more like an addition to the fleet I can still take on the road.

Santa parade in Collingdale last Saturday. Even though the pump is "toast" she still is a mighty fine ride and a big crowd pleaser.
-
Hi George,
I may have one coming from an L85. I am working right now to get the rear for the Clifton Heights Mack and may also have the pump.
Firemack
Thanks Firemack, no particular hurry. I was talking to Nick at the Philly Muster about that rear for their Mack, told them they could look at the one in our burned rig, but probably the fire was so hot that it is pretty much toast, so to speak. It's a shame, I have 3 Hale pumps out there, but they are just so roasted that anything rubber or leather is gone.
-
I would bet my 54 mack pumper you have a hale pump, made in conshehocen pa. their is a guy in hummelstown ,pa.(near hershey) that I hear has a lot of mack fire truck parts for sale,I think his name is CAL
Yes, I guess I should have specified that, it is a Hale pump. I know Cal Little, he is one resource I'm going to call. This is my 1st time using this forum, just got this rig after my 1948 L85 sedan cab was incinerated on September 1st in the propane explosion in Collingdale, Pa . BIG thanks to all who responded!

Bought the ex-Bala Cynwyd 1948 Mack last month. Nice rig, have it cleaned and lettered, but when I hooked it up to a hydrant this afternoon, I found out that at some point during it's soujorun out west, the pump froze up, the case is split wide open. So, now I'm looking for a 750GPM 3 outlet pump, one that isn't cracked. What good is a L85 that can't pump at draft at Harrisburg in July?
