Finally got this bought was a few miles from my house been parked for 8 years
Guy said he parked it because the crank was broke!! He said give me 500 bucks and get it outta here! So I loaded it up and hauled it home!!
New fuel filters new batteries fired it up the next day had a bad miss sound found a bent push rod threw another 1 in and away we went never spent another dime on it
Cab is 95% rust free double frame very nice shape for a 1978 bed is near perfect tires like new, even the windshield washer works!!!
Bed was half full of rock too that was a bonus

-
just wondering what other pulls in illinois are comming up we just had one here tonight
-
thanks for all the help

You have some numbers missing. The eleventh letter in the 17 digit vin number is the manufacturing plant.
[LST/quote]
i realize i left out a number lets try this RWS786LST49200
-
That was always my impression also but I never knew if correct.
Rob
both my superliners have cali. vin tags so im not sure
-
You left out the most important number to get your info. You should have a number between the 8 and L,which should be a 6 if your truck has a ENDT676 300 series Maxidyne. The complete breakdown of your VIN is as follows:
RW - model - Superliner
S steel frame
7 - 700 series(long hood,but all Superliner series 1 were 700's)
86 - ENDT676 300 Maxidyne (283 hp)
L - lightweight components(alum.fuel tanks,rear end carriers,etc.)
S - twin screw rear end
T - tractor
49200 - 49200th truck built in Hayward plant
thanks alot it doesnt show what trans it came with
-
Contact the Mack Museum, give vin#. They can tell you spec's as it came off the line, original owner.
A "donation' although not required is always a good thing.
what is the best way to get a hold of them??
-
Ive seen on here some people can tell what the truck had from the factory such as engine transmisson etc. was wondering if anyone could help me find out heres the number RWS78LST49200 thanks alot
-
would love t have it!! beautiful!!!
-
rob what transmission does that r 797 have in it??
-
I don't work in weather related radars although I have some processing capability in that arena. The commercial power bumps are what take equipment out, along with age of the equipment, and service life near three times design criteria.
Sorry, but am of no help in hurricane season predictions.
Rob
what is it that you do exactly rob??
-
illinois needs this law run em all out of here
-
See there is still some disparity in where our "president" is actually from........maybe this helps answer some questions?
thats great

I don't have any trucks that are finished as far as restoration(s) so no photos of anything where it will be. Have a lot of projects torn down and into. There is reasoning behind each one that we can talk about later. Here are some older photos:
I do make a bit of progress most nights on something, and it's not like I can't find something to do.
Rob
i like the one on the trailer whats the story on that one
-
I'd say average condition from a low of $3500, to $5000 needing minor work to be usable. Of couse there are some gold plated ones out there the owners want far too much for. All three of my 700 series trucks have the cabs raised higher than a standard 700. This is the primary reason I like them. A lot of 600's and 700 have the cab right down onto the frame and the truck looks less menacing, or aggressive in appearance.
Rob
do you have any pictures of them would love to see them
-
The type truck you are seeking is out there, but as you say, "expensive". Those V8 engines are getting very expensive and hard to acquire parts for. I have a couple V8 R700 series trucks and I like the exhaust note from the stacks. Never had needed to purchase parts for any but they are the older two valve engines and hard parts are basically obsolete from all suppliers. Sad too for as many years they were in production.
Rob
what would a r700 with a v8 be worth and what year are they just wondering
-
not sure what im gonna do i really need a tadem but if i could find a nice r model i would just stretch it a make one i have a couple of beds laying around would like something a little newer in the 80s but i dont wanna pay much would love a mack with a v8 more than anything but they are so expensive damn
My $500 dollar find!!!!
