Here is a picture of a late 60's R600 with a single 5" straight pipe through the hood. This is not my truck. It is owned by an old friend of my dad's. I know that this truck has been like this for about 25 years. It does still run, but he doesn't use it anymore. The picture is in the photo gallery.ty.

Oh yeah, almost forgot,
Another friend of my dad's has aold R Model (1968 approx.) with a box sleeper,250 Thermodyne with a quadraplex. He has a straight pipe mounted through the hood! It comes out in front of the windshield near the center on the pass. side. That truck has been like that for at least 25 years!

Here is a good one for you.
An old friend of my dad's had a reefer company and he only bought glider kits. Back when the T-600 first came out(early 1980's) he bought a T-600 aerodyne glider kit and put a 300 Mack engine in it. That truck ran everywhere. It was very neat to watch that truck go down the road and listen to it at the same time.

All right, I have a good topic that will be sure to get everbody started!
I am thinking of converting my R685 to a R700 clone. I am thinking about a Big Cam Cummins. I have the flared frame so I don't think I will have a fitting issue. I have also in the past installed a R600 p/s gearbox on a R700 and made one long steering shaft to the steering wheel(which worked good) I am thinking of moving the cab back and putting on a R700 hood. I have a 12000# front axle. I would like to know if anybody has done this or seen it done. A friend of mine stretched a 359 Pete front end by 12" and it worked good. I really don't want to clip my front end like he did, so I opted for the idea of just moving everything back. I can always stretch the rear another 6 ft like I did before. So come on everyone, give me some ideas

Hey guys,
im looking for a v8 mack or v8 cummins engine does any one know where i could look for one or know anyone who has one. Also does anyone know of any r700s, rs or rl for sale?
thanks Chad
Hey Superdog1986,
There is an old eccentric gravel pit owner here locally who has a sales lot.
He sells used trucks and heavy equipment that he picks up here and there. He has a Freightliner cabover(early 1970's) with a VT903- 13 spd RR. It has been there about 15 years. He also has a mid 70's R700 Western. I haven't looked at it to see what it has in it. It is a daycab with all dayton wheels. They are in Central Indiana.

I think Mack took over Brockway in 1975 but I'm not sure. Can anyone verify this for me. I drove a old brock back in 1984 for Romanella in Stonington,Ct. It was all chromed out with a 318 and a 15 speed. It pulled a 24 ft dump trailer. I really liked that old truck. Tim....Too stack Mack
Mack bought Brockway in 1955, 56 or 57. I can't remember which. But I am 99% sure that it was one of the three.

I have a question for you. Are you going to use the original tranny or are you going to use a heavier one that will hold up to the torque of the Maxidyne?
