I'm looking at the visor on my new (to me) rd688s. It gives instructions for it there.
"For starting at cold temperature, the press accelerator pedal fully and hold. Turn on charge, air cooler bypass switch and crank engine. Release pedal. After engine starts. Turn off charge air cooler bypass switch after engine reaches normal operating temperature or before operating vehicle"
Also says
" For starting at warm temperature, do not depress accelerator pedal unless you have difficulty in starting engine. Then depressix said earlier metal fully and hold. Whole engine stock cable. If equipped to off position, then return to run position. Crank engine and release pedal after engine starts"
