  1. American valueliners didn't come out til 78-79. Before they were just rs600 or 700. 700 had longer hood to accommodate the bigger motors and even had a bigger radiator that dropped down as seen in the extra piece to the aluminum grill at the bottom. Rs models sat higher on frame then standard r model same as superliner .they also had straight frames in front .hood was taller and wider then r model and the headlight buckets were a little narrower than the r model
  2. The 2 piece grill was only if you had a big Cummins, cat, or Detroit engine. Had a larger capacity radiator for the bigger horsepower. Can I ask where you got a rs600 hood? My 1st truck was a 78 rs model. Loved that truck. And no they didn't start calling them valueliners til later on. My 78 didn't have the valueliner badge either
