  1. Does anyone know the procedure for removing the door mirror assembly on a 2016 CXU613? Mirrors and mounts.
  2. Any follow up on this? Interested if my 2016 415C mdrive can be uprated to 505.
  3. Some truck manufacturers do gliders that let you install your own engines
  4. Are these still the good stuff for Mack diagnostic tools?
  5. 2016 CXU613 MP8 415C mDrive 12 3.25 rears, 590k miles. Front disc brakes, full air ride, Webasto bunk heater, PTO and compressor pump. Was wanting to get $25k out of it, but willing to deal. Interested in trades for other older pre-emissions trucks. Have more pictures if interested.
  6. Did you ever find the problem?
  7. I’ll let it sit awhile to see what happens. If it’s meant to be they’ll come down a little. I have another truck I bought I’m going to try to flip, and if I can then I’ll have the extra money to bite the bullet.
  8. No coins. Strange powdery substance in the frame rails, but no gold.
  9. I got the inspection report back. If anybody is interested in going through it I can PM you the link. Everything looks good and in order. There were a couple of inactive codes, mainly for ABS.
  10. Waiting on the report from the inspection which was done Friday. Sounds like it may be all for nothing though because they won’t go any lower than $27,000. Being as they bought it at auction for $9500 and just took the stickers off I’m not too keen on paying that much. Unless they report the sleeper is filled with gold coins I’ll be moving on to option B or C.
  11. Just waiting on the inspection to get done… waiting and waiting… I don’t want to fly 1500 miles to find something wrong with it. If everything comes back clean then I can hand them a check, hop in and drive away.
  12. Sounds like another good one.
  13. What can you decode from this vin 1M1AA18YXWW084965 My plan B if the 2001 doesn’t work out. Just waiting on the inspection report and a decision will be made from there.
  14. I’ll say it is very difficult to find used trucks for sale with an extensive service history.
  15. All looks nice, but who knows what the internals of the transmission and diffs looks like? I offered them $20k without seeing it yet, and I’d be happy with 24. I’m 1500 miles away so trying to find a third party to check it out.
  16. I don’t know what it’s worth. I see it was sold at a Ritchie auction back in March to the current dealer for $9500. Before that it looks like it spent life towing a race car operation from New York. They’re asking $27,000 which seems high for having no service history.
  17. How is it getting parts for the old Macks? Does Mack still have support for the stuff made before their merger with Volvo?
  18. I drove many T800s with C15s, and they were always solid performers. When I bought my own truck I felt good with the W9 with 3406E. Probably just bad luck, but I couldn’t go a week without something breaking. After I did the injector cups twice within 6 months I decided no more, and sent it down the road.
  19. Which would you rather have to pull a flatbed with, a 2001 Vision 460 with Eaton 13 and 450k miles for $27,000, or 1998 CH613 gold dog with a 427 and 10 speed with 700k miles for $10,000? Assume both are in good operating condition.
  20. I have my eye on a 2001 Vision with a 460 and 13 speed Eaton. Under 440k original miles, and appears to be in immaculate condition. More like the life of a show truck than work horse. Do these have a solid reputation for reliability? I know the E7 Etech isn’t a fan favorite, but it must be better than the modern emissions trucks. What should I be looking for specific to a Mack? I’d be using it to do regional flatbed work, rarely over 80k lbs in the Rockies. My second current option is get a 2016-2018 Pinnacle with an MP8 and keep a set of injector cups in the glove box. Also open to suggestions to other trucks so long as they have a full size sleeper and aren’t priced like a Peterbilt.
  21. Just joined from Montana. Been driving trucks since 2008, and looking to return to being an OO. I usually brushed off Mack’s as I was a big KW fan. After my experience with a W900 with a Cat motor I really don’t want to go down that road again. The Mack brand piqued my interest after doing some research into the old E7s and modern MP8s, and I’d like to purchase a bulldog. Anyway, thanks for letting me join.
