They used it enough for my dad to have to change the bell housing in it!
The truck was triaxel with a different body. It never saw a load with that setup.
-
They set that truck up to haul recycled cement from the leftover concrete that gets dumped out. Its a puddy like material. They liked the truck so much when it was done they didnt want to use it. They figured having that tub body would help the stuff slide out. Great pic though!

The price of gas looks good too. $1.48
LOL.....Tell me about it!

Checkout this link, the song is corny but the payoff is worth it

I heard about that...
He was a pretty big guy too. It was a company out of Branford. I'm sure you know who....
-
I saw this dude in a Pete triaxel years ago blow a front, and long story short the guy went through the windsheild.

Hope your having a great Birthday, Vinny!

Misc Hallamore Pix from Merk
Very cool!!!

He still has a bunch of Macks up at his farm. He also still has a B-model down at the garage.
That B model looks like its in pretty good shape. I used to see it all the time back in the eighties and nineties. I've only seen it recently from 91.

Anastasio Farms
Years ago Anasatasio had HUGE fleet of R models, before they started leasing trucks. His help seems pretty rough on equipment.

Welcome.....Nice to have you
-
Rather them live to work again overseas than die in a crusher here!
I agree, but if I had it my way they'd be in my backyard. I guess we cant have our cake and eat it too.

A guy from waterford has one of his old crash trucks and uses it to pull his lowboy.
I think I saw that one on flickr, am I right?
-
Oh boy, we better slow down i ran out of likes again! we really need to get rid of the restriction.
I maxed out too

Peter Carlucci from Stamford was using this recently. Matt Pfahl went through the truck a few years ago. It has a 250 with a quad box i believe.
That reminds me of L.G. Defelice from North Haven

You guys just slapped me in the head with a bunch of DM's!!!!!
-
Not a great shot, but this Ex-Genovese DM686 still works. I believe it is from Derby
I think I saw this guy running 91 a couple years ago hot n' heavy. Then I never saw him again. He must of been doing a job around Wallingford or N Haven.

Maisano
Wow......They come into our place alot, and I've never seen that one once!!!!!

JV still runs a lot of DMs, Maisano still runs DMs, O&G, Laydon/Valley, etc...
I meant the steel nose DM's versus fiberglass hoods.

I have been wanting to say this for quite awhile, you guys up in CT,MA and other parts north have it way better then us guys here in Philly.I can remember a time when there was nothing but B61-B81's running everywhere here in Philly. Now a days you can't find a Bmodel anywhere here in Philly. There was one that ran out of a quarry down in Chester County but I haven't seen that one in a few years.I would love to drive one of them old girls anytime over the newer trucks.Give me 2 sticks,2 windows down and the smell of exhaust and I'm good to go.All good things must come to a end sorry to say.
Honestly, I can't remember the last DM hard nose going down the road. There is one guy around Hartford that still runs a couple B models though. I never thought I'd see the day without DM's.

I definately agree that its great to see you younger guys getting into this. It makes me think there's some hope coming up the line. With the technoligy we have at hand its cool that you young guys are into a more mechanical hobby. When I was a little squirt the only way I could invision myself as an adult would be behind the wheel of a DM800. Even then it was kind of frowned upon. Its kinda like that bumper sticker that reads,"if I have to explain, then you wouldn't understand". The early eighties for me were great. There was still a huge variety of U models and DM's. Not to mention all the Brockways and A-Cars. I remember driving up 91 in North Haven in the early eighties and looking down at Stop and Shop's wharehouse and gazing at the rows and rows of U-Models parked for the weekend. I wish I had pics of back then. When you are a kid you think everything is going to be around forever. It's great there are alot of guys here that are into preserving the history of our industry, but it's better that there are young guys to preserve our history now. I think its cool that there still kids out there that are into trucks and equipment and working with their hands. I'm proud of how I make my living and if I could go back in time I wouldn't change HOW I make my money, but what era I would do it in. I feel honored that you young guys are interested in not only the equipment but the history of the companies and all the guys that made they're living from them as well. And for that I Thank you ALL!
