Disconnected all the terminals and found that J3 terminal of the VECU when plugged back in 1 by 1 was responsible for the red shutdown light to function.
Now when we turn the key the red shutdown light doesnt stop ringing. It lets us turn it on but shuts down seconds after.
What did yall want us to do with VECU -

I don’t know if I mentioned this. Common problem with R series trucks with ETECH engines. The VECU ( vechicle electronic control unit) is mounted on the kick panel in front of the passenger seat down by the floor. The factory mounts it to the kick panel with the electrical connectors facing up . The windshields are bad about leaking and when the RH side does it drips right down onto the VECU. I have found the VECU’s to actually have water in them. This causes all kinds of crazy problems. Issues include having to crank engine 8-10 seconds before it will start, various guages not working, engine won’t die when you turn the key off until 8-10 seconds pass, low power/ sluggish response. This is because the high speed J-1939 data link is down and it’s running off the slow/low speed data link J-1587 so everything is responding super slow.
Would i remove that black panel to locate VECU

so when you turn the key to the ;on; position, that bulb doesnt light up during the self test?
we had a technician come out when all this started and the only code that showed was an engine speed sensor. That was changed and the problem continued of turning on and shutting off moments later.

does the yellow lightning bolt come on too? Do you know how to get active codes using the cruise control?
The yellow lightning bolt isn't working

I'm just curious.... Were you able to put a gauge on it to get a true oil pressure reading?? Jojo
No we did not. We both have been busy with work.
He ended up buying it at the Dealer.
And still has the same problem of it shutting down after a minute or so with red shutdown light blasting the whole time -
I have been shopping around for the Oil Pressure Sensor for MACK E7 64MT2115. My local MACK quotes me $200 out the door. But the links below have it for half the price and want to make sure they are MACK and not aftermarket.
We really prefer to purchase a MACK sensor than an aftermarket. Unless yall advise differently.

Would be nice if that shut down and malfunction light worked
The red shutdown light above the oil and temp gauge was flashing when all this started. Now it doesn't flash just shutdowns

No we don't have an external gauge.

I see it now,, good deal.. engine speed is read by the sensor in the flywheel housing.. RPM/TDC sensor. . Those wires take a beating.. I would check them for wear or damage.. gently tug on them to see if they are weak, and wanting to move inside the plugs..
We just came back from a test drive, and it's still shutting down.
I think we will have to replace that oil pressure sensor from the picture. -

Slow down on a CalAmp delete, that's your ELD compliance right there. If you're operating locally and don't need it then great, delete it. Don't assume it's the problem til you've done your homework.
What blink codes do you get from the Engine Malfunction Light? Fire up the truck. When the lightning bolt comes on: press/hold the set/decel button til the lightning bolt goes off. It will then blink a 2 digit code at you. Write it down, press it again. Keep doing that until it starts repeating codes. Post the blink codes here, we can provide you with the data on the codes.
The engine malfunction light is not connected. We had a technician come out and plug into the ECU and only found a speed sensor that needed replacing.
We recently removed what I think is the oil pressure sensor 'red circle in the pic' and blew some air into it and cleaned it.
As of right now the truck starts and stays on but the engine temp, RPMs, and Speed gauges are not responsive. -
I also failed to mention that we were getting the flashing red light that does the ENGINE PROTECTION/SHUTDOWN

in the cab... to the left of the panel... If I May??? I dont like the condition of the outside fuse panel... (E.P.D.M.) It is dirty and will cause issues, if it hasnt already.. I suggest cleaning it with a good elec. spray cleaner and replace the fuses with a dot of dielectric grease. Do you have the cover?
We took off the top one because that's the one clicking when we turn the key. But well check the rest of those cubes
I have the fuse panel; I just took it off for the pictures. And for some reason, it doesn't let me upload photos any only a small size.
we will clean up that EPDM- 1

ok. I do not see an accesory relay there. over at the fuse panel, there are 4 relay cubes. One of those should be the acc. relay.. I think its the lower one in the row of 3. check the connections for green crud. Looks like you have a few small I.D. bulbs to identify and put back in the correct sockets.. jojo
are you talking about the fuse panel inside the cab or under the hood

Thank you all for your counsel.
It resulted in being short to ground, as JoJo stated. That was outside the cabin, where the windshield wipers rest.
We hired a technician that used one of those power probes and waved it around the wiring. And it would make a noise when it detected a short. Now we are going to buy our own power probe because we still have a faulty temperature gauge.
Again a sincere appreciation for yalls time, attention, and knowledge.
