Looks like they're getting around to liquidating all the equipment here in a couple of months: https://www.rbauction.com/?keywords=equipment-from-yellow-corp
Most of it will probably leave the country but I hope some people here can get some good deals. I'd love to get a cheep forklift but all the terminals are too far away.

I have a 13 Mini and before that I had a 5 that I used for 8 years. I might downgrade to a flip once this 13 is wore out because it doesn't look like they'll be making anymore small phones.
I'm the young skinny guy and I have to do all the crawling around under stuff so a small phone is a must.

Sorry to revive old threads but this is kinda cool!
I was reading through some old Mack news articles on an archive and found what was previously stated:
So a couple of these Mack/Renault amalgamations did make it over to North America but where did they go? I wouldn't blame them if they dumped them in the ocean somewhere, but there is a cool factor in finding the only example on the whole continent.

What specific motor were you thinking of putting into it? If there's nothing wrong with the body I would say it would be worth swapping in a different motor, but you have to keep in mind that the transmission could be the reason it was originally parked and there isn't a real good way of testing those till you get everything back together.
I see now why multi head motors aren't made here anymore, having one big head makes them harder to steal

I doubt this person will see this but it popped up that it hadn't been answered yet so I thought I'd kindly oblige.
I didn't even look at the date. Looks like he hasn't been on in a month

^2x what he said. Unless you're keeping it off road and you plan on keeping it forever its probably not worth it. Plus you would need a way to program it which from what I hear about Volvo isn't easy.

I'm not sure about Android but with Apple you have to screen shot the picture to get it into the right format. I can DM you my Email and can post them if you'd like.

Does Volvo even offer their 16 liter engine here in the US anymore?

Oops sorry this one slipped through the cracks. I'd love to see some pictures of the truck and engine! There isn't all that much info out there about Mack gassers. Is it a flathead of overhead valve?

Heres your chance to own a rare one: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/986690686122475
Marmon made some cool looking cabovers but there isn't much Info out there about em. I wonder if they had an air ride cab like the Mack, that would add whole new level of cool!
Riding on the doghouse in our Mh was the coolest thing as a kid! You could feel everything the engine was doing and wow that E6 would feel like an earthquake when hauling 90,000!

I thought it was the same paint scheme as this other marketplace post I found but no. Looks about the same wheelbase though and the ad says it was a house mover at one time. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/429952142891241

Looks like all you can do now is swap out that IH engine for a 5.9 .
He would have to use a Dt466 or 7.3/6.9 V8 if he wanted to diesel swap it. Those are the "rules" lol
We don't get an option to buy ethanol free gas at our only station where I live and I don't even know what the ethanol percentage is. I have to rebuild every carb I own about every year though so there is definitely some in there.

Yeah I guess it makes sense, Volvo's probably paying more to manufacture here than than they are in there own country. The late 90s and early 00s Volvos had really great interior build quality for that time (everything else not so much). I don't know what they're like now but I'm sure they'll go down in quality like everything else that shifted production to Mexico. The global trend is building crap and we are all buying it
I wish we could have someone like Ross Perot running today, although who knows what they'd indite him with for trying.

Nice I hope she went to a good owner!

Lol I remember being that kids height and driving truck, couldn't push in the clutch to shift so learned to drive without it.

Just goes to show they never cared about the workers here in America, or anywhere else for that matter.

Since we're on the topic of fuel something else came to my mind about the carburetors. I don't know if your 401 has the same brand or model as my 345's (I think it was a holly) carb but I remember my dad telling me to NEVER backfire it, or at least try your best not too.
Anytime it would backfire it would screw up the metering rods (I think that's what there called) and the whole carb would have to come off and be rebuilt. I never had it happen to me but something that always reminds me of my dad.
As for the old gas, I collect old Hit N Miss engines that love to run on the stuff! Old air-cooled mowers and such run fine too once they get hot enough.

You could even drop a few MPG by going with a higher rear gear! Your working each of those 12 Liters pretty hard even if your only hauling 70,000lbs!
10 gears just isn't very much to play with, and like Geoff said getting out of the mud loaded is a big thing to consider. I would get some sort of fuel flow meter to see what RPM that motor wants to be at and do your ratio calculations off that.

Is the motor stock? If the stock restrictor manifold is still on that's what's holding your MPG back the most. Here is a great post describing the whole process of Souping up one of these motors:
I think some people on here have done re-gears on Mack axles but I'm not sure the on process (if you have Mack axles).

Cabover FEVER

Not to go too far off topic but I found a cabover graveyard that's too cool not to share:
This poor Pete would have been one cool V12 truck in its day! If only they could tell stories.
Can't seem to track down the owner but I think the land was sold recently so they could all go to scrap.
