  1. From what I have read they will feature CAT engines.

Do you have a link. Cuz i tried to find out and i cant find info on the motors anywhere. I know if you want an auto it will be the new CAT auto tranny.

I think i will still stick with my :mack1::thumb:

  2. I'm looking at buying a small hook-lift truck or roll-off. I want it to be under cdl (26k) or if i fine a good deal i would buy a CDL truck. I want a single axle. I been looking at the IHs and FL70s. I leaning more towards the IH for a couple reasons. My buddy is a service manager at Ransom IH and he can hook me up. The one paving company i worked at, has about 6 IHs all small ones like 4200s. They seemed like good trucks with little problems.

I know nothing at all about F-liners. But there seems to be a good amount of them out there for smaller trucks.

Tell me what you know about small trucks. Thanks

  3. I've NEVER seen the need to spend a bunch of time, effort, and money making an old work truck shine like a new one. If I'm driving someone else's truck, and they are willing to pay for me to run it through the streakin' beacon (or other similar establishment), I'll do it as often as they like me to...but I'm not spending my own time, energy, or money on it. About the only time I wash my own truck is when I'm going to work on it or take it in for work to be done on it....just easier to work on a clean truck.

Makes me just as much money either way...and I don't feel bad taking a dirty truck off road, whereas that would be a hard turn to make on Monday morning if I had just spent my entire weekend spit-shining the truck.

Well this truck is my pride and joy. I worked so hard to get my own truck. I like going down the road with it all shined up and looking good. It gives me a sense of pride. Plus DOT is more likely to leave you alone. I do agree with you a clean truck makes the same as a dirty one. Different strokes for different folks.

Now when i was a company driver. I did wash the truck once every 2 weeks. They did pay me for it. But i would never bust out the polisha nd get crazy with it. But since this is my own truck it is well worth it to me. Plus i take it to my house for the weekend and drink a couple beers and clean it up. I enjoy it.

  4. I added some more goodies to the truck. 13in visor, toolbox on the pass. side., xm/Sirius radio kenwood head unit. I also put to more speakers up in the headliner. I can get a picture of that if anyone wants to see it. So i got a total of 4 speakers. The radio kicks. It goes in 2morrow for tinted windows. I'm waiting on my PA PUC number to come back them I'm getting it lettered up.

Oh yea i added lights under the cab and put 2 on the cab guard of the dump body.

  5. How do you set the time on this god damn radio?? I know on the other model you hold 3 and 6 together. But this is a new model to me and i hate this radio and its pre-sets. How they are on the turn knob thingy. As soon as i get some cash im going to best buy and getting a nice Kenwood radio with sirus already built in. But in till then i would like to know how to set the time. Also dont tell me too look in the owners manul i dont have one lol. :mack1:

  6. The smoke laws in NJ are total BS. As long as your truck meets emission specs for the year it was built, I say take 'em to court and fight every ticket. If you have an '03 how can your truck meet '07 specs? Even if the state wants to lower the opacity level, older trucks should be grandfathered.

couldn't agree more. My buddy has a 96 rd with a 350 that failed it. They told him to get it fix. The problem is what are you going to fix?? It was never even made to even think about passing todays emissions. This is nothing but a money making scam for NJ. Something should be done about this. It is total BS.

  7. Looks like it's got an AI460 engine, T318L transmission, FXL18 front axle, 16.5" X 6" front brakes, Rockwell 23160 rear ends 4.30 ratio with interwheel differential lock, 16.5" X 7" Rockwell Q-Plus rear brakes. That's some of what it's got on it, but a complete line sheet will ahve a lot more information. A word of advise: Keep an eye on the frame rails in the area just behind the steering gear and the same location on the right side for cracks. One of the frame vendors made some frames with bad relief cuts that would crack in service. I think your truck is in the time frame that there were several of these. There is a service bulletin on a repair for this. I'll see if I can find it if you're interested

Yes please find it. Thanks alot for the info. really helps. I take it you work at a mack dealer or something??
