oil pressure gauge went crazy.one sec it would be pegged next it would go to zero.finally other day it wouldn't work at all.so i tried to get through day and fix that night but truck wanted to regen and tried but it couldnt.so ilimped to dealer and they couldnt get it to regen either.left it overnight and next day they said they changed sensor and thats it,regen worked.does that seem right, could sensor keep it from regening.

cant you use other side to get it open and then take the panel off the inside to fix it

that was the great thing about the twelve speed, you could drive it like 5 speed empty.but when loaded you had the option to split every gear.too bad they stopped making them.

Cross off one more Mack customer. I have a 09 GU713 and its been nothing but trouble. Replaced more on this truck already then I did on my 1999 the entire time i had it. Mack doesn't want to stand behind anything. Just had it to dealer where it sat for 3 days before they even looked at it. Then they say they clipped a zip tie off the wiring harness for the trans to fix it. Didnt put a new harness on "because I'd have to buy that". But if it happens again, crawl under and shake the wires and it should be fixed. Now, this harness has never been touched since the factory. Truck doesn't even have 50,000 miles on it and this wasn't covered by warranty. Cost me $480.00 to have them cut a zip tie after it sat for 3 days. Needless the say, I wont be dealing with Mack anymore or this dealer whom i have been buying everything from (tires, fuel, parts even my pickup trucks). So count this ex-Mack fan as a bad for Mack trucks, because I think they already ruined the name.

hate to give you more bad news, but if your going to haul interstate, you need a MC number and 1 requirement is cargo insurance.costs me about 500 a yr..you'll also need a rep in every state, which is usually a 1 time fee.should be under a hundred.but the number itself will run ya 300.

saw it sittin in the lot.only been there for 2 or 3 weeks now.looks like a good truck.might be able to read the old companys name on side of body, and you could ask them what they thought of it.if you cant i know whos it was.buddy of mine has a 460 with an 18 and he seems to like it.

really???? what kind of recalls , cause i have a 09 granite mp8 and i havent seen a recall yet.

It sounds to me like someone down the line added some "snake oil" to get a seal to stop leaking and what you have is a byproduct of not fixing something correctly.
This late at night I cannot remember the chemical composition of the stuff that is added to oils to swell neoprene seals to get them to quit leaking. Brand name companies advertise these items for what I consider a miracle cure that seldom works long if at all.
The Ross Gear steering gears are well known for leaking around the pitman, (sector) shaft seal, and the input shaft seal. Both of these seals are relatively easy to change on the truck.
If your shaft seals have ballooned out it is probably because someone added much more of this stuff than recommended. Feel the sealing material, is is soft and supple and bend/conform easily? If it does, that is exactly what happened. Seals should be stiff and the annular garter spring should hold very noticable pressure against the shaft the sealing lips ride against.
I don't believe in the additives. If a seal is leaking, it needs replaced. That's just my opinion. If there is a groove worn into the sealing area, use a speedy sleeve to repair the area.
I'm sure you have a vane pump on that engine as there were very few gear pumps used on motive power applications. If the pump is not leaking I wouldn't worry about it unless it does not meet pressure/flow checks.

yep they all used reg engine oil till a few years ago.all the new ones are using atf

i'm interested in knowing how many people on here drive the new Macks? starting with the mp7 half breed?
drive a 09 425 mp8
-
That just means a total group of at least five. For example, if you and another person are looking to go, you call, and they pair you with a group of 3 or more. That's what I've done in the past. I've never been "refused".
when i bought my first new mack, the dealer took me.was supposed to follow my truck down the line but got there just a little too late.but the did let me ride out of the plant in it.couldnt drive it myself for insurance reasons

and it wont derate unless you shut regen off completelyit will work fine.if its parked it wont regen till you hit the button and tell it to regen.
