UPDATE!
We have we received a new modern brake booster, installed it and bled the system the old girl stops. We took the truck to a truck tire shop and had tires inspected. They recommended being a parade truck that nothing to do now. The tires show no age cracks or signs of any dry rot. Now that the truck is drivable, it won't park on the same spot in the tires now.
We are going to add a fuel filter and electric fuel pump. any recommendations?
FXFYMN for the forum gave a recommendation for a pump in the forum.
609Albert. I would like to get the photo/ info on changing the oil filter over. I was just pondering finding a power steering filter that would fit in the existing oil filter can. Any thoughts on that Forum?
Can you tell me more about the new brake booster you used? I'm currently needing to do the same thing on our 1956. I was planning on getting Whitepost to rebuild to do the booster and wheel cylinders but I would certainly consider using something a little more modern. I just need it to stop.

There was a brand new one on ebay a few weeks back.
Thanks for the info. I looked and found one for an R Model. I appreciate it though.

Robb,
Do you have this engine listed in the B Model Registry? If not, go to home page on this site and get it registered.
Thanks
Tom
Thanks Tom and yes, it is registered in the database.

How much of a hurry are you??. I checked and I do have 2 and I need 1. I do not know the condition of the cores or the fan motors but the boxes are pretty good (need a little hammer/dolly work but not much). Of course I will want to keep the best one for my truck but to be honest, I don't think there os a WHOLE lot of difference in them. I suspect that they both will need new cores and maybe fan motors. I might not have time to play with them before fall now to see what is there. I am talking about the heaters that mount on the passenger side under the dash. I think I also have 2 that mount on the drivers side and attach to the steering column support. Where you wanting one of those as well?.
Thanks and I'm not in a hurry. The one I need mounts under the dash on the passenger side.

Sounds great! Thank you.

The whole thing, mine is completely missing. I guess, if I had the box itself, I could probably rig up something that would work though.

Hello all,
Can someone recommend an alternating flasher for my 1956 B85? I want to flash a couple of fender mounted red Unity lights as well as two matching lights on the back of the truck. The truck is positive ground.
Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. We actually got plug wires and a couple of new coils from him. We did discuss the electronic ignition and I’m sure we’ll switch at some point in the future. Had we not already bought the new plug wires, we probably would have switched it over then.
Thanks again!

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the reply!

Thanks, I will check that as well.

Thanks. Carb was rebuilt and the gentleman we got it from always used non-ethanol and we're doing the same. I appreciate the information though. If he hadn't made me aware, I probably wouldn't have thought of that.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help. It starts, runs and idles well but it's not running real smooth at higher RPM's. We are replacing all of the plugs and installing a new set of spark plug wires, which it needs anyway.
Thanks again and I appreciate y'all sharing your knowledge.

Thanks, what plugs do you prefer?

I recently acquired a 1956 B85 and we need to replace the spark plugs. I've heard that both sides take the same plug and I've also heard the opposite. Can someone confirm which it true. The service information I have doesn't mention using 2 different ones but I'd like to be sure.
Thanks!
