  1. Our Mac dealer wanted about $500 for floor covering so not a bad find today
  2. Were there original boot mats that went over the carpet for driver & pass?
  3. Mine has bench also, it's actually a rubber mat not carpet like the old one (which tore like a piece of paper so rotted) I just have to cut the hole for shifter out
  4. I don't think my truck had shocks but I am going to show my mechanic that photo to compare where he thought they were supposed to be mounted
  5. Does that rear carpet piece go under the seats or around them, there is still some left between the seats
  6. What I found out today is that air ride came with shocks in the rear & camelback suspension shocks were an option. My mechanic doing the road safety has decided not to include the shocks for the safety who sent me on this wild goose chase today. But it wasn't a total loss, I learned something new & ran into a old r series guy who had a brand new cab carpet w/ underlay for $200.
  7. Looks like they were removed before I bought the truck, mounting nuts are still there loose. Our local Mack dealer is having trouble finding them, so I am on the hunt for used ones. Does anyone know if they are a standard mount used on multiple years?
  8. Thanks, was getting conflicting reports, my upper shock brackets are missing from the truck
  9. Anyone know if r series with camel back suspension had rear shocks?
  10. It looked like it was a cement truck before they put a dump body on it
  11. It's not stripped, its bottomed out & got new switch from Mack according to ser#, going to pull it out & see if I can feel what's supposed to be there
  12. My name is Kevin & I live in Weldon, Saskatchewan Canada, I bought this 82 Mack R688ST at an auction about 6 years ago and I finally have time to put some work into her. It runs & drives great but everything else around the drive train has been abused and neglected, so I have a lot of work to do to get her safetied and on the road. This is my second Mack, I owned a 1988 U series with offset cab (cool) but it had a walking beam suspension which was the roughest riding vehicle I have ever been in. Looking forward to hearing from other Mack owners, great website. Keep on Trucking!
  13. Any help from BMT world on this would be appreciated . I have a 10 speed Eaton trans with 5 reduction and have no continuity through the reverse light switch when truck is shifted into reverse. I installed a new switch last night and the old one works also, it seems whatever is inside the tranny is not contacting the switch. Switch is located behind the shifter on top of trans, or could this be a neutral safety switch? could not find a neutral SS in wiring Diagrams, so not sure if the NSS was use during that year?
