  1. Since I am getting no replies to my questions here, Is this not a correct forum to ask questions about the Mack Midliner series of trucks? If not, can anyone suggest a better forum where I could find some answers about this type of Mack truck? Perhaps I should be looking for a forum that covers Renault trucks? Problem is that although I know this truck was originally made by Renault, I have no idea what model of Renault truck this was derived from. Can anyone here tell me anything about that?
  2. What is the suggested oil for a 1989 Mack Midliner MS200P with the Renault engine? Also how much oil does the engine hold? I.E. when I drain it how much approximately will come out?
  3. I have a 1989 Mack Midliner MS200 and I am having a problem getting the cab tilting latch to release. The directions say to push the latch handle up to release the main latch and then pull down to release the safety catch. When I push up, nothing happens. When I bought the truck a few years ago the seller was able to unlatch the cab to show me the engine but since then I have been unable to get the latch to release the cab. Is anyone here familiar with this model of Mack truck made by Renault who can give me some clues as to what I can try to release this main cab latch? Is there any sort of safety release mechanism tied to the handbrake being properly set or other safety measures I should look into? I need to be able to change the oil on the truck but if I cannot unlatch the cab all my maintenance plans are at a stand-still. Thanks -- Steve
  4. So is flushing the brake fluid a complex job to do? I am an european car specialist so I have never worked on a commercial truck like this before.
  5. No, the last six characters of the VIN are 200139 Is there a VIN decoder that would tell me more about the truck's equipment?
  6. I purchased a Mack Midliner truck early last year and the title says it is a "1989 250" but I have a copy of the old craigslist ad and that says it is a 1990 MS200P Is there a way I can actually identify it one way or the other? It has air drum brakes if that means anything.
