  1. Hello guys, I finally got around to doing some more research as to what happened to my engine. The roller sleeve looks to have broken off from its base, and the bottom half is stuck inside the bore. The bore looks to be slightly damaged, I can run my finger down the bore and feel the damage, its slightly scratched near where the break happened, im sure a new sleeve can slide in and out with ease. Is this repairable or do I need another cylinder block? Below is a picture of where the roller sleeve broke.
  2. Thanks for the advice! I don't mind rebuilding the engine if its possible or getting a reman. I purchased the truck for 5500! Very good condition for its age, the motor is the only thing thats bad! I will look into this possible cam failure.
  3. Hello guys, I purchased a 1999 CH613 E7-427 from an auction for a decent price, The engine looks to have had some kind of mechanical failure. Im not a diesel mechanic and I just barely started to learn about trucks late last year, so I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction as to what might have caused this engine failure? It looks like someone cut off the exhaust pipe and took the turbo and the exhaust manifold, so I will be ordering those parts soon. Also the engine turns over when I apply power to the starter. Thanks for your help!
  4. Hello Guys, I have a 2001 Mack CH613 dump truck 10 speed with E7 E-tech 350, I recently purchased a 1999 Mack CH613 with a E7 427 and a 10 speed from Iron planet for $5,500 that needs some work. Are these two trucks pretty much identical except for the interior? Are the ECMs the same? I'm am building a maintenance database because I plan to purchase more trucks and want to keep them all the same. I was originally only going for the 2001-2007 CH613, but I couldnt pass up the deal on the 1999 CH613, but I am wondering if they will be completely different in terms of parts and electronics. Thanks for your time!
