  1. Thanks, my auto insurance agent wasn't much help. He either doesn't know what to do with an antique or isn't interested in messing with it. I haven't pushed the issue real hard yet. I have a fire truck, not a wrecker. It originally came from a fire station in Bethlehem PA., was sold to a Shriner club in Cleveland for a parade vehicle, sat behind a club members barn in Orrville for a few years, then sold to my father in Wooster where it sat in his shop for the past 15 years. My goal is to have it back on the road by next summer which seems probable based on what I've gotten done so far.
  2. As a new old Mack owner I was wondering what to do for insurance. Do you guys have full coverage or just liability? How do you determine the value of the truck for insurance? Is there a company that specializes in antique trucks? How expensive can I expect insurance to be on a 1948 fire truck with historical plates? Thanks
  3. Not yet. Working on it this weekend. Fun fact: the truck came with the original build and delivery sheets from Mack, the original service manuals and even run reports from the fire station it was housed at, which incidentally burned down in 1952 from a kitchen fire. How embarrassing is that?
  4. Hello from Smithville Ohio. I've recently acquired a 1948 EE firetruck that has been sitting in a barn for the past 15 years. Originally from Bethlehem PA. where it was still in service till the mid 1980s. Truck is original, complete and rust free with the exception of the engine which was changed by the last owner to a Ford 300 I6. All It needs is paint and brake work. Thanks in advance for the info I'm sure to find here.
