  1. I found the coolant level sensor was gummed up, I cleaned it and refilled the bottle. So far repair worked, however, will know for sure tomorrow morning.
  2. I appreciate the insight fella's. I will try this and recheck in the morning on cold start and report back to you guys.
  3. Good morning. I am new to the forum, I work for a Marine Industry based in Norfolk, VA. Among many pieces of our equipment, we have (2) Mack CH613's, one a 1998 and one a 1999. I am having an issue with the 98. Upon first start up, when air pressure is below 60psi, it smokes on first start up and has been for years, then clears up and idle smooths out (takes about 5 seconds). However, now, upon first starting in the morning which has happened more when we were having 20 degree days.....the engine shut down and elec malfunction would come on and after 15-20 seconds it would shut down. If I started it and repeated the process, once it reached about 120 psi and maybe two more shut downs, I could drive the truck with no issues or faults. Now we are passing winter, the days are much warmer and the truck is still having this issue. I have replaced the fuel filter as of now, have not checked it yet as I am getting pulled off to go captain the tug boat.. I am not confident draining and replacing the fuel filter is going to resolve my issue. Has anyone had any experience with this in the past? Any insight on where to look and chase. My local MACK dealer has been very unhelpful in getting me a service manual as well as an owners manual which I am willing to pay for! Thanks! Mike
