  1. It looks exactly like that the spring and spiral are in good condition but the teeth are rounded off the gear I am having a hard time finding a replacement bendix and not sure if 10 teeth is correct
  2. The new ring gear was exact match with the original and the starter was grinding bad before I replaced the ring gear that’s why it was bad to start with makes me think maybe the 10 tooth starter is no correct
  3. 56 B42 401 gas starter just grinds so I replaced the ring gear and not sure if my old starter has the correct tooth count is 10 teeth correct 12 volt starter with bendix no solenoid
  4. Are b42 gas starters the same tooth count? Mine has 10 teeth and does a lot of grinding
  5. Does anyone know what the teeth count is on the starter for 1956 B42 with E401 my starter doesn’t engage and just grinds when trying to start
  6. My 56 B42 Mack is missing the VIN number. I think someone many years ago must have replaced the drivers door there is no tag. How can I find out what the number was?
