  1. Hi I see an E7 at 250HP is 975FPT, so would anyone know what a 275HP has for torque? Can the engine be upgraded? It looks like it is still a mechanical E7.
  2. Thanks The truck sat for over 3 years. We drove it a bit and there doesn't appear to be any coolant on the engine block. Thanks for your help. We will closely watch. I will be doing a full service and will submit an oil sample. I wasn't sure what info is required; please advise.
  3. I just picked up a 1998 RD690, with a 275HP E7. I drove it home and noticed fluid on the block.. It appears to be coming from the manifold, that returns the coolant back to the rad. The dual plastic tanks are empty and the coolant looks discolored, when wiped with paper towel. I will send out an oil sample to see if there is an internal leak. Can anyone add any insight or history of the same occurrence? The truck was last licenced back in 2014, oil change info was at 16,000 and it now has 16,717. It runs well, doesn't smoke, it pulls OK, but it is a cab and chassis, so no load. Rod
  4. I am looking at a 1986 R690ST tomorrow and I was wondering if I should be looking for hidden rust spots somewhere on the cab. Can anyone offer feedback on where I should be looking or feeling for rust, where it is not easily visable. It has a front plow and sander box on it. Out here we do not use salt, so the pictures make it appear in great shape.
