  1. Vlad has a darn good point. I'm sure that most trucks get the gassers pulled in favor of a diesel. The reason I considering the swap is because I was hoping to show the truck as well as have it haul tractors to the shows as well. I don't have any specs on the other tractor yet. The guy who has it is not sure he wants to part with it and I didn't get too long to look at it. I'll have to get some more info and get back to you guys. Thanks for all the support. By the way, I'm near Cincinnati Ohio.
  2. Thanks for your comments guys. I was originally thinking I could go with the 5.9 cummins, but I've stumbled on another early 50's Mack tractor on a nearby farm. It has a diesel in it that I'm sure would need a rebuild and I was wondering if anyone knew about the interchangability between different models and years. I'd hate to talk the guy out of the truck only to find out I couldn't use the engine. Sorry I should have been more specific in my original post.
  3. I have a 1949 EQT that has a gas engine. I would like to switch it over to a diesel and was wondering if anyone knew what other models would make good swap material. the trans is a five speed duplex which I would like to keep. Any info or recommendations would be great.
