  1. Hello, my name is Don and been here for some years without a Mack but just drug home a 1954 405A with a locked up 377, got two spare 377 engines one locked up and a rod through the side of the other.  Couple questions, 1st are there parts available, bout all I see is plug wires. I'd like to keep it mack but wouldn't be beyond going 413 Chrysler or 427 Chevy if could find the right bell to bolt up to original drivetrain.

2nd question is I sent to Mack museum for info, what is a ballpark amount you guys send?

    Guess that's all for now.

  2. Went and picked up truck from painter fri, to bad it snowed out nite before and roads all salted. So just spent the last 3hrs washing and cleaning the frame by hand to get all the road grime off and clean it up to see what the paint job came out like. Very happy with the results, also was a good Christmas in my house my wife gave me a new Bostrom seat, the original one from Mack that came with the truck when new and my daughters gave me new bulldog mirrors for the truck and daughters boyfriend gave me new Mack emblems that go on the hoods sides. To say I was surprised is an understatement, that my girls would go to all that to get me those things for my truck with out even asking or hinting at it even coming.

Looks like you got a nice paintjob!! Also nice that you got Mack stuff for Christmas instead of neckties.

  3. Does anybody remember Humes Transfer in Steubenville Ohio? My uncle Bob used to drive for them when I was little, he always talked about the old Mack Ls and LJs, I can`t seem to find any pics online but I remember the trucks were yellow and black. Also Weldon trucking in Mingo Jct. Ohio had some L dump trucks.

But my favorite L was owned by a neighbor named Baker in Mingo Jct, red with black fenders and an aluminum sleeper added on after a coil came loose and rolled forward. I really liked this truck as I was getting old enough to drive he would let me help paint the wheels and then he would make music by pushing the brakes and tugging on the horn making all kinds of sounds. He always said he had the fastest truck around, I sure miss seeing that truck.

  4. I especially like that Dart. Had a neighbor that had a dark green 340 Dart that sounded really strong. He rarely got the car out of the garage. I would like to see the WW2 Dodge, those are now very rare to find. I guess the WW2 reenactors have bought them up. At least they are using them for a good cause.

    Thx

Mike, I only found a couple pics of my 6x6 so far so I took a picture of a picture, I hope they came out in my album, it was in the 80s when I had it. I put a couple dart engine pics in there too.

  5. Nice group of Dodges. Like the 440+6. Any pics of the engine compartment?

Thanks Ken, i`ll get some engine pics tonite, I just grabbed these pics off the net real quick. The sixpacks seem to work real nice in the trucks, I get about 12-13 mpg running around on the center 350 cfm carb and if I romp on it the two 500 cfm end carbs come in smooth and away I go, I get some funny looks on the highway when I cruise past folks in a 1 ton flatbed like nothing, LOL!! Now if I could find one of those Mack trucks that had the 413 Chrysler in it I could build a nice BIG INCH dodge/Mack.

  6. Nice album. I see you turned a Li'l Red Express into a Big'un. I remember when they first came out and thought it was just some goofy cosmetic stuff. I was wrong.

Thanks, I always wanted a lil red but never had the money when I found one so I made one out of this truck. I think the real lil reds in 1978 were the fastest production vehicles that year (a hopped up 360 auto ). What I was gonna build out of this truck was a mini tractor with a sleeper cab and a tandem rear with duals. I used to have a WWII dodge 1 1/2 6x6 and I put a regular cab on it and duals.

  7. Do you have anything Mack related?Like a Mack cap, key ring, tee shirt, model, etc, etc.?

    mike

But if not, we still welcome those that like Winfall Wimmin

    WELCOME

Hi Mike, I have a cap,a belt buckle, and gold hood ornament I used to have on an old chevy truck. Right now I have 3 Dodge Power Wagons,a 69 Dodge Dart,an 87 Chevy rollback,a HD Fatboy, and my old 42 Willys gasser that i`m freshening the engine in right now. Sorry for the late reply but I only have a computer at work.

  8. Just wanted to say hello, i`m from ohio and like old Mack trucks, don`t have one yet but looking and never realized there were so many different models and sizes. My favorite has always been the L & ljs because of the ones I was around but after snooping around the computer I like EE and A20 and B20s. I want to get a smaller one to put my rollback bed on to haul my old stuff on and the A20s and B20s look like they`d be good for that.
