  1. I decided to pass on the dump truck being that I have to transport it 3 hours to my place and its too long and too close to the weight limit on my lowboy. If any one want to consider the DT and wants some pics, feel free to drop me a PM.
  2. i spoke with the owner last night and based on the emblems on the hood its a B61. I was going to ask him to check on the manufacture plate but the way I see it it does not matter. I am buying it as a B61 and it will be a bonus if turns to be a B52. Btw, the pictures that he send me shows its a triple framed. Owner believes it weights no more than 30k so my lowboy should handle it fine.
  3. I was planning on removing the rear tires on the furthest axle and load it backwards on the lowboy and let the truck slide over the front part of the trailer. The ramps will be chained to the front bumper. But I am not sure, it this thing weights over 15 ton I will bail out. "When in doubt, be a chicken" kinda thing :-).
  4. Do you have a link of the thread on this truck? Evidently I am not good using the "search" function :-)
  5. Sorry to have lost you guys, its a doubled wall and I have no clue about the rear axles. The lowboy is the old style trailer that goes behind a fifth wheel semi truck. I will use the lowboy to transport the mack to BHM.
  6. Hello everyone, I am looking to purchase a 1960s B61 Thermodyne. It has tandem axles, quadruplex tranny (18 speed) and a full size 14 foot steel bed. I was wonder if you guys can give me idea of how much it weights? The other issue is my trailer: its a single axle 15 ton lowboy trailer with a 20 ft long flat area. The dump truck is 26 ft long I think I can rig something and get it to work. However, how is the weight distribution of the dump truck? How should I load it to get the most weight on the tongue? Thank you, Gio
