Where might this be?
-
The cab might be too far forward. It'll take a bit but loosen the cab mounts and try to slide it back a little. That would be enough to screw things up. 1/8 of an inch here 1/10 of and inch there all adds up in the big picture. This is the not so fun part of restoring trucks son! Good luck! P.S. Your still way ahead of me! I still don't have one! LMAO!

Thanks Bob! My fathers pictures throughout the years have been misplaced and he has since pass on 1/11. All his buddies that drove with him have passed as well except for one but he's retired to FLA. I don't want to be a bother to him so he's my last resort. I've seen pictures on the web of all the LTL companies from that era that drove along side him but none of his. Thanks again! My search continues.

Ok it's been a while since I've been on here (few years) and I'm still searching for old picture of my fathers company U models he use to drive back in the 70's-early 80's. He drove for Nashua Corporation (not Nashua Motor Express). They where a distinct blue, actually 1968 Chrysler corporate blue. They hauled their own paper and tape products in the Northeast. Right now I'm going off strictly my memory and that's getting to be a challenge . So if anyone remembers those blue U's let me know! Thanks for your time!

Whats he asking for it?
Who knows. JR has a price for everything. Sometimes a lil too high. I'll ask next time I'm there! Sad thing is if no one buys it, it'll just sit there like everything else!
-
Yeah, they have one of everything at least.
Remember being over there a couple of times when Jimmie was working on his pallet load of refreshments. What a character! He always had something going on.
The ever lasting pallets of warm ........uggggh! Never ran out thats for sure! LOL

I think I know where that is, on the back way in to the flea market?
You got it Tozzi! It's a treasure trove of obsolite equipment and antique tractors! LOL

That sort of looks like Bristol's yard over in Amherst?
Actually in Hollis. And yes it is Bristol's. It's where we fuel. It's our old shop. JR just got it in. It's for sale just like every thing else in that yard.

I've seen this truck for years. Since I was a teen. Haven't seen it around for ever and I thought it was long gone but, behold it's back and better than ever! Love to see the preservation of these old Macks!

There is absolutely no way you would ever in a million years convince any truck maker to spend that much money to build promo trucks that may not sell now a days they would laugh you out of the office.
Nice thought! Ain't it sad though? I believe all the truck companies in the 60' 70's and 80's did things to the highest level of class to promote thier trucks! Good time good times!

true, guess I have to agree myself. some of the newer axle forward Ch's don't look half bad. think it depends on the color. any of the earlier ones with that god aweful aerodynamic plastic bumper looked cheap to me tho. some of the newer ones with chrome texas style bumpers don't look half bad.
Exactly! I drove a 92 and 97 axle forward CH's with chrome bumpers. Not bad trucks at all. The 92 had a 350. 9spd 38 rears w/ 44 springs. 97 had a E7 427 13spd, 44 rears. Both didn't owe us a thing when we retired them.

Holy crap. Those are my price ranges!
Holy crap!!!!!!!! Yeah sadly enough still I need a lower price range! LOL

In my opinion it is late 80's Superliners . Just remember the poster I had on my wall as a kid my Father got me. Thoes where the days!

I vote not fair as well, I like the 50's and 60's tucks but for reliable everyday working trucks the 70's and 80's
I too think it's not a very fair question! I actually love 60's thru early 90's. Much broader range.
