What's the best way to support/lift the engine to replace the front engine mounts on an '88 RD688SX with an E6-350? I am concerned about supporting/lifting the engine by placing a hydraulic jack with cushioning under the oil pan; any suggestions? Do I have to lift the engine from the top with a hoist? That would be more difficult. Trans/rear mounts where relatively simpler comparatively speaking.

NIce! Enjoy it. You done good! I checked out this truck at the Gerhart show in Pa, it's all there and really worth whatever effort you're going to put in it. You're gonna love drivin' it. Great choice . . .

Photo 9 is a members B called "Mater" .
You are absolutely correct! We watched it's re-do by Wobblin-Gobblin and it certainly deserves "B candy" status. I believe the motor let go not too long ago, I hope they get it up and running again.

Does anyone know if Hiler Trucking still has that red dump?Been trying to get in touch with them to ask about it but haven't had any luck.Would like to go up and see it if they still have it.
I took this picture at an ATHS Metro Jersey chapter truck show, has to be 12 to 15 years ago and Hiler had it for sale. Steve Avella from Highpoint Garage bought it, cleaned it up nice, put his labels on it, worked it for a short time to prove it's worth and sold it, to someone in the Midwest to the best of my knowledge. I have a picture of it with Highpoint badging on it along side the Highpoint "B" dump with the snowplow, in this set of pictures. I'll try to find it, it really looks good.

interesting how many of the B61sx's actually had the big b80 series front axle. I'm thinkin the black one in the 1st picture might have been a Highpoint garage truck at one time also? I know he had one with a 285 and a hood scoop
Could very well have been a Highpoint truck at one time; there are enough similarities between the two. That truck went to Florida after Highpoint had it and was sold again so it could have made it's way back north. However I also have pictures of the Strano "B" from the '90s and it looks very similar to this one before a restoration. The New York heavies of the day had very similar upgrades. My understanding is they are restoring another "B" heavy dump, now that one could be the one I saw from the '90s.

EXCELLENT ADDITION TO YOUR DOGPOUND! GOOD LUCK WITH IT; IF IT TURNS OUT JUST HALF AS GOOD AS YOUR RS795 AND BEN'S R700, IT'LL BE GORGEOUS. CANT WAIT TO SEE IT.

OK, SO HOW DO YOU GET A COPY OF THIS TO EVERY "NON-CANCER CAUSING" PATRIOTIC AMERICAN IN THIS COUNTRY? DO WE MAKE SURE TRUMP PUBLISHES IT PUBLICLY WHILE EXPLAINING IT OR DO WE JUST FORCE AN OUTCOME WITH SPECIFICALLY INTENDED, PERFECTLY AIMED BULLETS?

Hell Yeah, you best do it !!

My "B" has a 711 with a 4" straight pipe and it barks with the best of them. I'm not sure if I wiggled thru the 18 speed mixmaster all day for a living with the straight pipe that my ear drums could tolerate it, but as a weekend warrior there is no better sound! . . . and yes it has a different rumble than a straight piped 673. My 1964 B61X S/N 52213, 711, 18spd, 11x24 rubber:

Nice post-this is one 61X that I have never seen south of the NH-MA line before-and as Maddog said-different front spokes --wonder if the front axle came from Global's inventory?
The square spoke hub is on the right front only; the left front is a period correct "B" hub. Apparently the right side has been replaced at some point.

Is there someone under the trailer in front of the first dual wheel assembly either standing or bent over? Damn !! A great picture of a typically hard working, good looking B-Model gettin' the job done.
