No they put them there to make more noise.More noise the more power.no muffler.they cut a hole in hood with torch big enough for the muffler to fit under hood and warped that side all to hell.took my son a lot of work shrinking back again to get oil can out.origanly came with under frame mounted exhaust.side stack was put on few years after it was new.Bob

they look like 65000 lbers from a older LM or LJ.sping box covers and bolts from the bottom give it away.I'm looking for two spring box covers to complete mine.Looks like a nice truck to drive.Bob

did you have a LJSWX a few years ago.the LT looks to be in good shape for being the first.Love "L" models.bob
