  1. I live in NJ, near Newark which is a mecca of dump trucks, roll offs and waste disposal trucks. I have a CLEAN CDL, with a hazmat and tank endorsment...clean back ground, somewhat mechanically inclined, a registered business owner who is waiting on my own A901 which is a Solid Waste Transport Permit that set me back 3 grand in hopes of starting my own business. (if anyone knows anything about garbage and NJ, that permit is no easy feat to get!..should say something about my background right there!) I got hurt on my last job (non truck related) and was let go right after surgery due to them closing the doors with the economy and all. Ive been staying afloat by doing some small demo and rubbish removal (I stress small)....the idea is to continue to grow and eventually go from a van and a pick up to a Roll Off....in the mean time I needed some work because as not even having a year as a business owner under my belt you arent pulling 40 hrs anytime soon. Why the hell is every trucking, excavating, garage, wrecking and every other damn company that has to do with trucks telling me there isnt enough work to put me on??...I see the trucks out there everyday...yeah I know the economy sucks and all, but come on I've been at this for months! I'm more then qualified, eager, goal oreinted and I'm only 33 yrs old..I can still learn new tricks!! Never in my life have I seen it so slow with dump trucks or roll offs....a few years ago I was working 40 hrs a week at a shop, then had more then one dump outfit offering me cash on saturdays to run dirt and leaves in a tandem....now? Nothing....When the hell is this gonna break?!
  2. Judging by the grocery store and hardware stores...you'd think Weather Channel was calling for the Apocalypse, not a few inches of snow. Calm down NJ, its just snow. Either way, I'll take one of those puppies!
  3. 1 word: Mavericks 1 more word: Retards. A few more...I miss Reagan.
  4. That was a helluva video!!! I thought the dirt fenders made that thing look badass!!!...Gotta give a man credit who can flip and land a Harley!!
  5. Thanks for that!!!...It seems the RW slips through the cracks. I dont see them around too much..especially in dumps, maybe because of the weight rating? I think its a real nice looking truck though..would love to see more of it.
  6. Pretty much yeah thats it...I mean sometimes you see some so shiny it looked borderline chrome..but I think what you have is what Im talking about, it almost looks like shined up polished aluminum...
  7. What was the timeline for some of the R's After the B Models it went to R? What year did it start and when did the line stop? Also did the RW take the spot of RD? And what are the differences between those models.. Thanks a ton in advance!!
  8. When you see dump bodies that are polished is that a factory thing? Stupid question but I mean you arent gonna do that with a regular steel body correct? So if you had a steel black body and wanted a polished one...do you switch up? Get a buffer and go to work for a decade? Whats the word on that? Thanks. Jesse
  9. I loooooooves me a GTA!!! I didnt have a GTA, but an 88 T/A with a 305 TPI..few little do-dads here and there, but man was that a fun car. Not only that I think that is one of the most handsome cars ever to leave detroit. Honestly, GM in the mid to late 80's I think made some really cool stuff...The GTA, Grand National and the T-Type we're nice, the Monte Carlo SS..Olds Cutlass....hell I even like the Grand Prix from that era!
  10. I hear that! I worked for a Honda/Yamaha dealer for 6 years and I couldnt even understand Harley back then. At the time I was heavily into Motocross and was riding a CR250 and a KX250 and also had a R6 and was test riding everything under the sun. Motorcycles to me were about tearing it up! Something I couldnt see on a Harley...I remember the owner even told me "these are great bikes, but they will never have fame a Harley does, just because of the name" Now though, I'm seeing some of these Harleys and appreciating them waaaaay more. A Super Glide doesnt seem too expensive, the motors have changed alot with EVO and there are a ton of aftermarket performance bolt on power to waste money on. Even with all the aftermarket stuff and extensive tunning...out of the box you arent even gonna catch a glimpse of an R1 or GSX-R....but its apples and oranges. I wouldnt buy a Mack if I was planning on running the Indy 500. Apples and Oranges. Look up any Harley video or review on youtube and there are TONS of people saying how your a joke if you ride a HD...I never got that...theres no point in ripping a guy for riding a HD if your a CBR owner... I dunno if anyone saw that new liquid cooled XR Harley put out.....looks nice and suposedly performs pretty well...then again I cant see it outdoing any of Japanese sport bikes.
  11. Yeah, LCN with Cypress and the original House Of Pain combined is cool and there are alot of others out there staying off the radar...but its good and its out there.
  12. Amen to this!!! I grew up with early KISS, Maiden, Priest, King Diamond..then got into Slayer, Pantera...then Cannibal Corpse, Emperor, Darkthrone.....NOW I listin to everything from Deep Purple to Mayhem....I listin to alot more then metal though and a ton of "real" punk...Misfits, Samhain, Minor Threat.. Theres a TON of good underground Hip Hop out there..check out Ill Bill, Necro, LCN..etc I like old school everything, from N.W.A. to Elton John...for a short time I was music major, I guess thats why I have such a wide range. For all you metal guys, check out my band..I am the Vocalist...PLAY LOUD!!! : myspace.com/lockedcore
  13. Topic Title pretty much says it all....Round 1...
  14. I try not to regret too much, but man..I got 2, and both of em were GM's. My very 1st car was an 81 Trans Am, it was a 4 speed with a 305. Not that a 305 is a 350..but man was that a fun little car and really gave me no trouble at all...except with the posi-traction in bad weather, but hey it is what it is. I burnt out a clutch, but that was about all I had to replace on that car. The 2nd was a 1988 K5 Chevy Blazer a fuel injected 350 with a 3 speed and low gear..when I called around trying to get the inside scoop on it, I was told the same thing twice. "That transmission does not belong in that blazer, it's for a work truck and it mustve been special ordered like that." Either way it had Ranchos, 33" tires, Cragars, Hooker headers, a Flow Master cat back, KN intake and that was about it...that truck was a beast! And I couldnt bust it....until Christmas eve 1999.....2 weeks prior I had done some mudding in it. Everything was fine, but while driving to do last minute gift buying at the mall I noticed the steering wheel had play in it. Before I could say "whats up with the play in the wheel"..the damn right front snapped off and I went across the road like a on 3 wheels as I watched my 33" tire go across the street and not hit any cars thankfully. I skidded out into the woods and lucky aside from a rotor, the hub and all the front end hardware no one got hurt or anything,...though you can still see the spot my rotor dug into the road. Never again will I have a daily driver thats also a toy. Still though...damn I miss that Chevy!
