I would also check your trans. oil, the tranny cooler in the rad could be leaking. (not knowing what tranny/rad combo, you have this maybe useless to you) b0Bo

Check to make sure it has a good ground connection to the sending unit when in the tank. To test use a ground from another point that you can confirm is a good ground and then touch that to the the edge of the sending unit where the screws go thru the unit

thanks, my mechanic had a problem getting the unit in the tank aftermarketPAI unit so we thought some reason by moving rod and float and forcing it thru opening we were losing contact of sensor on the point of contact. we thought aboutbuying a MACK fuel sensor but i guess we are doing something wrong.

You should be able to get a ReMack assembly for you engine. I'm not sure of the price but I'm pretty sure it carries a warranty and is cheaper than the rebuild kit. You just have to install the end capsfrom your oil cooler on the ReMack cooler.
Hey, thanks for your advice. I am knew to all of this, do you know where I could buy this remack cooler. About how much do you think I should pay? Bob

It's likely that you have a cracked oil cooler. Replace (kinda tough to repair, but it may be possible) it and flush the engine and radiator
How much for parts and labor. What are your thoughts on this. Thank you BOB
