  1. Hello everyone,

Im new to the this forum and I love the site. I am hoping that someone here can help me. My Dad used to drive for a company here in NW Pennsylvania. He hade a red 1976ish R model with a 325 V8. Does anyone here know where I can find a picture of any other V8 R models from around that era? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    here is my 1977 R with 865 v8 325hp

  2. I've got a '72 R700 with the ENDT-B865 V-8 and a six speed. The V-8 is pretty well done, just doing yard horse duties now. I have a 1987 EM6-237 from an MR with an automatic that I'd like to put in the R-700. I know I have to change the exhaust manifold and flywheel, but does anyone else know what else I have to change to get the EM6 in there (bellhousing, clutch, etc.)? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time this has been done! I intend to keep the six speed in the R700. Thanks!

What are you doing with the v8 you'r taking out

  3. Well, Koneta pretty much shot me down! They don't want to touch this project. But I did contact Symplastics (another original Mack vendor) and they are looking into it. I actually have one of their old flaps and it looks pretty cool...what do you guys think?

They would pobally have to be white plastic as pictured, but I may still be able to do black plastic and/or rubber...Let me know what you think and I'll keep you posted.

white plastic is fine with me i just want 2 sets

  5. 77mackr, I have all of my insurance with State Farm, and they have a antique vehicle program, I have my 2 macks insured with them, I dont know if they will sell a stand alone antique policy or knot. You have a real nice looking R-Model there, does it still have a winch? what kind? where are you located? I am currently driving a 74 R-700 with a similar rig up. Block.
