    Ya it is a dump truck so I had to pull the big ass tower with a thousand air lines in it to get the cover off but I got it. And the repair should fix it I can tell it is either the detent or the pin because it is not actuating the valve fully like the other gears.

    I think I found the problem. It is either the detention is worn out or there is a small pin inside the middle rod it may be worn out. I am ordering both from Mack. Thank you for your help man!

    So what do you think is wrong with this trans? Should I pull the top cover and inspect the shift bars? Can the button come loose and slide on the bar causing it to be able to change range in gear? It is a dump truck and of course it has dual stacks so pulling the cover is a chore in itself.

    I just noticed you can do it in 3,4,7,8. All the gears on the far side. That makes a little more sense.

    On a Mack 13 speed 5th is on the high side. No work has been done to this unit in a long time.

    Hi I got a Mack GU713 with a Mack 13 speed in it and the driver says when he preselects high range while in 4th gear the trans shifts into high range. I verified this and found it only does it when it is in 4th gear. First, second, and third it waits till it passes through neutral to shift to high range. Any ideas?
