I really don't know any history of this truck and what's been done to it. The only thing I noticed was the fuse panel was replaced because it said 2004 on it. Radiator looks fairly new too. I bought this truck pretty much on a whim..... Had it since August of last year. She runs hard. And little by little I'm working through all the problems. We run her all week and then set her in the shop all weekend and dig into her

Hi boys. So I have a 91 MH 600 cab over with the E6 engine that I added to my fleet last year. It's been pretty solid so far but we've put some decent money into it as of recently....new turbo, straight pipe exhaust, replaced 4,5 and 6th injector lines, etc.... Well as of last week it's been blowing white smoke a lot. At idle, at low revs and at full revs under load. Also noticed some smoke coming from the oil dipstick tube. I don't know what's going on but I'm not happy. This is a daily driver and does 400 plus miles a day to Mass and NYC/PA most weeks. Need to get a handle on this. PM was done 10k miles ago but we'll do another one this week...I usually go about 20k miles in between oil and filter changes but now I wanna do it soon and see if that helps. It has had a bit of blow by ever since I bought it. My mechanic is thinking a valve adjustment would be good to do too. Any other ways to point me about this white smoke?!!!!

1991 MH 600 cabover headlight buckets

Thanks Paul. Yeah my Volvo 670 in the picture isn't a fun ride by any means but it's also a workhouse and parts are really easy to come by. Lol -
Hi guys, My 1991 MH600 Cabover wouldn't start today. I jacked up the cab and found a hole in the starter and the small solenoid wire literally exploded through! Anyway, we changed the starter and solenoid this afternoon and the key still doesn't work. Any tips? All I can think of is the key switch is bad. And the old fuses? I can't buy the fuses though! Pls see attached pics. Thanks gentlemen Jason https://www.keralatransportllc.com

Thanks guys. Funny about the calendar! But it works! Yes, it does have an air bag dump and sliding fifth wheel. But I don't get why it's not labeled. Lol -

Gentlemen, What are these 2 air actuated switches? And the one/off switch? There are no labels. Is one the 5th wheel slide?? -

Hi guys, sorry for the late replies. We got a new cab lift pump and that did the trick. Unfortunately we did use ATF fluid.... ughhh. Yes, I was definitely mistaken. It's not a Cummins. Definitely a mack engine. I'll post the serial numbers this week . My first impression is that's it's lacking power. I was around 17-1800 roms and at 66-67mph. How high can I rev this motor? I'm used to running way less rpms in my other trucks (newer Volvo and Freightliner). Lots of fun though! Head turner! -
Good morning gentlemen. I'm Jason , I own a small trucking company and just bought a 1991 Mack MH 600 cabover to add to my fleet. It's got the 350 Cummins small cam with an 8 speed manual tranny. I'm really excited! My mechanic is going through everything now. He just did the PM , all fresh oil in the differentials and new wheel seals , bearings and shoes on the drives. Next hes gonna tackle an exhaust leak. He also fixed all the lights and fixed the wiper fluid pump that wasn't working. The AC is not working but we don't have time to dig into that right now. Ok, now the fun stuff.... The cab lifter isn't working. He removed all the hydraulic lines and had the drivers side Piston rebuilt because it was leaking badly. That was a hassle... But after that the cab still won't lift. Hes removing the pump now and is taking it the same hydraulic guy. He thinks that needs a rebuild too and and maybe the check valve inside is bad. Anyone have any experience with this??? I really wanna get this cab up because he doesn't wanna put the new fuel filters and then not be able to prime it. TY Jason
