  1. I am starting to lose my mind here with one of our 1993 RD688S dump trucks. Driver says, when the 'Electronic Malfunction' light doesn't come on, it won't start and it would occassionally shut down while driving, requiring the ignition to be cycled to restart. A couple of months ago I went through everything I could think of, only replicating the issue one time, but otherwise finding nothing wrong. Then it only happened a couple times over the next two months. Yesterday the truck got stranded on the side of the road for an hour before it would finally restart, and once again, I can't replicate the issue here at the shop. The best I can figure is its a ground some where, common to the lamp, but by the limited schematic I have that seems to be coming from the VCM. If anyone has any insight or a better wiring diagram I would really appreciate some help.
  2. So, it ends up being something to do with the alternator. If I disconnect the the dc12v+ cable to the alternator the frame voltage goes away. Everything still seems to work. When I disconnect the alternator and test it on its own there is no problem 🤷‍♂️
  3. Hey all, I am working on a 96 RD688 and I have a short or shorts to the frame somewhere. When I disconnect the ground baytery switch the the frame goes to battery voltage. I get various voltages on the service side of the fuse block, but removing all fuses doesn't completely remove voltage from the frame. What would be really helpful is the fuse block diagram or at least labels for the fuses. Thank you
