Oh oh. Well you know what to do now. Hope the engine counter bores will be in shape.
yes im hoping so too..wondering though if you or anyone on here might know if we can eliminate the egr cooler? were in Phoenix AZ so we dont have emission testing on this truck we bought it used out of california and the boss wanted to know if we could delete the egr system

Joey Mack is correct. Those EGR coolers were bad for leaking. If a head gasket is going to fail then combustion gases will push coolant out the coolant overflow.
On a side note, if you have a Bendix air compressor, the intake was on the suction side of the turbo and would draw oil out of the compressor. There were plenty of service bulletins that addressed this issue as well.
Did you notice your engine oil level dropping? You mentioned that you found heavy oil in the exhaust.
Yes the oil level was dropping and we do have the Bendix compressor. We did also have coolant pushing out of the overflow tank

were pulling the engine apart now so far we have coolant in the air intake horn on the EGR tube but no coolant on the other side of the EGR cooler plus coolant in the oil??? Gonna pull the heads and check for cracks? or gasket?...Im confused as heck right now

Im thinking a head gasket or cracked head. 04 427 ASET engine. I have coolant standing in the air intake tube and a little in the oil (milky), also crystalized coolant in the air horn where the line connects from the EGR cooler. The truck has been smoking heavily sometimes grey sometimes white for a couple months now smoking would come and go truck would also randomly shut down but no codes, when it would shut down or stumble it acted like it was running out of fuel but throughout we never saw any contamination in the oil and no signs of it in the intake we did however get heavy oil in the exhaust so we did a turbo but now it runs really rough and smoking is continuous. Anybody have any thoughts??

We have a 613 that the clutch pedal comes extremely high to be again it’s stop. Had a 1996 613 that was not like this what is the difference to make the 2000 this way??? About have your knee to your chin to get your foot on it! It’s not out of adjustment that is just where it returns to the stop it has couple inches of free travel as it should.
If im not mistaken there should be a rubber stop on the upper frame work in the cab under the dash that the clutch pedal hits, sounds like it may be missing

Can you check fuel pressure with the pro link?Low fuel pressure to the HI Mod. This issue can be so much more ,Anything from egr cooler restricted (Dirty) the sensor for mass flow on the venturi and venturi tube plugged Turbo partly stuck ! Sometimes you just got to start at the beginning !
Just sayin!
I cant see that fuel pressure

What’s the T2 ( center of DPF temp sensor) temp running ? We like to see around 880 degrees. High temps in the upper 950-990 can kick out the regen momentarily and resume.
It wont get above 600

Hi all I am stuck here hoping someone can help. I have a 2015 CXU613T with and MP8. I replaced the DPF filter with a new one had the DOC cleaned by our local Mack dealer. I installed a new AFT2 injector (it was leaking) and I have the Mack software in my pro link ultra. Im trying to reset the soot level and it says completed but still shows level at 132 percent? So the truck keeps calling for a parked regen I have let it do it several times as well as did a manual with pro link but nothing changes. When looking at the data I have 0.00 inlet pressure on DPF and 95.00 on outlet? I thought bad delta snsor and replaced it also blew shop air through tubelines and they are clear. But with new delta sensor numbers dont change. The truck also shows 0.00 ppm on NoX inlket and outlet on bank 1 and bank 2. I went ahead and replaced both NoX sensors and nothing has changed. The exhaust flow at the diffuser tip is strong and the engine runs excellent. Im sure that I dont have an exhaust restriction. Im at the point of sending it to our Mack dealer but wanted to see if anybody can shed some light on this for me, maybe im missing something??
Thanks Brad

i found it its on the left side of the steering column way up high under the dash right next to the steering shaft.

Sounds to me you didn't have the push tube seated in the cup on the lifter! I have had this happen before but got lucky not breaking anything!
ok that does make sense. My engine has the power leash exhaust brake and on the inboard exhaust valves there is a pin and a cup that goes in the bridge, does the cup go over the valve stem or does it go over the pin that goes through the exhaust bridge?
-
are these aset engines zero clearance?

So I installed the new cam, lifters, and push exhaust push rods. All parts ordered off vin through PAI. When I was barring the engine over to begin setting valves I heard a loud bang but had no tension on the bar. The bang was the Number 1 exhaust roller shattering. I had all adjusters backed all the way out and when i went up top every single exhaust rocker was super super tight, the number exhaust push rod was bent as well. I took everything back apart all lifters, rods, and the cam itself spec out the same. We have absolutely no idea why this happened. I checked all 12 H-Clips all are good and all lifters float freely in the bore? Can anybody shed some light on this for me PLEASE??

Wuddja do for roller lifter holders?
The boss said to just buy the tappet holder kit from Apex tool for 600 cause we have a fleet of 22 of these engines and like he said we will probably end up in all of them

It's not oil, it's fuel slobber. Half burned, raw, fuel that exited the semi-active cylinder.
Ok makes sense, thank you so much!!!!!!!!

Hi all, I have a 2007 AMI 335 Aset engine. I am doing a cam and lifters but we also had oil leaking out of the joint on the exhaust manifold. Cylinder 1 rollers failed and the bridge for #1 intake dropped off. Im wondering if you guys think the oil in the exhaust could have come from the failure or do you think we need to look at doing the heads? The engine has 280k and had an inframe at about 175k but that was done prior to us owning the truck. It is a cement mixer and has the Mack Power Leash exhaust brake. Any input or thoughts on this are GREATLY appreciated.

its an AMI 331335 ASET year is 2007

Thank You everyone for the clarification. Im doing a cam and lifters in a 07 Aset engine and im wondering if theres any tricks to holding up the lifters other than the 600 dollar holding tool I am finding online?

Hi all, im wondering if anybody can tell me what the difference is between the Aset engine and the E7?
427 ASET coolant in oil and air intake manifold
