I think i read that you can put a cam in from 03 back and it is completely emission free and a great engine at that point.

Super clean truck. Has 400k on the miles. AMI engine. Waiting on oil sample. Can’t find much reading on the engine. What upgrades would make it better?

What modifications should be done on the AMI. I have one found. Thank you

Thank you very much! Good post for sure. Looking at 4 roll off trucks. 04 c12, 14 isx15, 05 mack ami 335 and 06 Mack AI 350 which has a new reman. I want to lean towards the Macks. All real nice but every one has it’s demons. Was gonna buy the isx15 which is a 14 model with only 200k till i started reading on that engines problems today then i came back to these macks which have the cam that dirties the crankcase and gets bad mileage. Not much other choice unless i just buy an mp7 or 8??? What is your thoughts? Read a lot of your posts!!

Which is best, given the choice? Looking at two trucks now. Thanks

Thank you! Mostly concerned about these Mack engines 04-07. Hate to get going as an O/O and lose an account over a second rate engine design and downtime. Someone on here will know and have some input on the asset engines. Love the idea of pre-emission, pre cat-piss trucks but i might be better to buy an mp8 and delete it?

Thought i would pose this question to the folks who know before i get myself in trouble. I need to purchase a roll off truck. Found an 06 Granite with 60K on Mack AI-350 and an 05 that is a really goodlooking truck with $45k brand new unit on back and an AMI 335/400 and 414k miles. Should i run from both? First truck will cost $60k. Second will cost $85k. I have searched for info and what lil i did find scared me. Thanks for any input.

Ok i am following you. You speak of the AI but you are talking about AI/AMI (either)? So to make a wonderful long lasting engine a cam swap and possible exhaust manifold and and trash the muffler?? Again it has 400k but it was a clean fleet maintained lumber truck till now. Your thoughts?
