As far as aftermarket there is nothing out there yet. However all MP-8 engines are the same regardless of HP. From 415 to 485 HP there exactly the same engine, just the software down load is the difference. If you dont have the 485 a Mack dealer can submitt a HP change request form and tell you how much it would cost.

thanks for that mack told me it will go to 500 and that wood cost 4-2-5000 just too push a button

As far as I know, you would have to hook the truck up to a dealership PC to download new settings right from Mack. I'm not sure if upgrades are available for the MP8 yet, I'm sure some of the Mack Techs here will chime in as I'm just a parts guy!

is there a software disk for a laptop computer that can be puchased, or aftermarket microchip, that can upgrade my horsepower on a MP8.

along the same lines as what you would do to give your car more horsepower. can that be done on my MP8???

hi my name is jo and my partner drives a Mack. he just contacted me and asked if i could find out if there is a disk for laptop computers that you can get to upgrade the horsepower on his MP8.

he described it as being the same sort of chip you can put in your car engine to boost its horsepower.

hmmmm i need help..... is there anybody that can point me in the right direction???
