Short Description: 1934 Mack AB 1000 gallon water truck that was formally an Oil tanker in Los Angeles in the 1940-60's. It was used in the MacGyver series from 1985-1992

The Mack AB in MacGyver 1985-1992 is my truck. It still runs and sprays water as we use it in the summer to spray the yard. It is a 1934 Mack AB with a 1000 gallon water tank setup. It was a oil tanker in the 1950's in Los Angeles for the refinery. Someone before me made the water tank changeover from the oil tank and added the pump, sprays & controls.

I have a 1963 Mack, model B73S, serial #3443 that came with power steering. The steering gear box was removed from this truck and given to a parts man to have rebuilt. The parts man dissappeared with the gear box and we have not been able to find him or the gear box. I am looking for this gear box or one similar that I can use. Their are 4 bolts that hold this box to the inside of frame and the steering shaft comes thru a hole in frame to the Arm outside. Can anyone help? My phone is 951-317-4290 Thanks, Dave

I found out today from Mack that the steering gear box is a Shepard and the part # is 20QC326P2. Does anyone know how to contact Shepard? Thanks
